That's really too bad. He was one of my favorites coming out of high school and I really never thought that he got a fair chance. Never saw the field that much but I guess I never saw practice and never saw him off of the field.RB07OSU;2070886; said:Can't go much further into detail but Berry will not be a part of the team next year.

1) hasn't committed a felony
2) clears up any and all his "legal issues"
3) shows some remorse
and
4) is still academically eligible
I wouldn't mind seeing Urban give him one more chance with a "zero tolerance" warning. Take him back; but one more "screw up"; and he's off the team and his scholarship is pulled.
The "running across the street and punching some kid in the face who had just been hit by a car" charges?RB07OSU;2071652; said:I would be shocked if none of these charges stick. As good as he is, I just don't see his situation improving in Columbus.

Ohio State running back Jaamal Berry pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Berry was suspended from the football team eight weeks ago after being charged with assault, battery and disorderly conduct.
The charges were based on an incident that occurred Oct. 21 at 2:20 a.m. in the Arena District in downtown Columbus, involving Berry and a Columbus State Community College student.
Jury time for the case was waived, according to court documents. This creates a slower paced case, and the first hearing date will be set sometime in the next week or so, said Robert Tobias, the assistant city prosecutor assigned to the case, on Tuesday afternoon.
Tobias also reached out to the victim Tuesday morning to offer a criminal protection order, but was unsuccessful in reaching him.
Lawyers for Berry and the victim were unavailable for comment by telephone Tuesday afternoon.
