RB Eddie George - (1995 Heisman winner, CFB HOF, 4x Pro Bowl, HC Tenn St)

Report: Eddie George's family member battling coronavirus

There will be some semblance of normalcy gained with the NFL Draft proceeding on Thursday night, but the root cause behind its virtual presentation still remains at large. Among those personally touched by the COVID-19 pandemic is former Titan and Buckeye star Eddie George.

On Tuesday, the former NFL runningback revealed that his 70-year-old father, Edward George Sr., is battling coronavirus. George Sr. is reportedly hospitalized at an assisted living facility in Philadelphia, PA.

“Actually my father has COVID-19,” George disclosed to WKRN.

Eddie George said his father was diagnosed a week ago and despite underlying medical issues, should be okay.

“We’ll see. He should be OK, he has some underlying medical issues. I haven’t heard anything, so no news is good news.”

First of all, Happy Veterans Day! Everybody at Bucknuts.com wants to thank all of the men and women in our armed forces all over the world who keep us safe (and have in the past as well).

Second, it was 25 years ago today on Nov. 11, 1995, that Ohio State running back Eddie George rolled for a school-record 314 yards in his team’s 41-3 rout of visiting Illinois at Ohio Stadium. Here is a look back at that special game.

George is now getting to work on his staff, and it reportedly could include multiple big names including former Titans and Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher as well as former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson according to John Brice of Football Scoop. Jackson has been out of coaching since 2018 but was a highly successful offensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals prior to a failed stint as head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

"Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Hue Jackson, the former Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns head coach, is George and the Tigers’ top target at offensive coordinator," Brice wrote. "The Pro Football Writers of America NFL Coach of the Year in 2015, Jackson is heralded as a keen offensive mind with 20 years’ NFL experience in addition to spending more than a decade as an assistant coach at the collegiate level to begin his career."

Just sayin': If he gets Fisher and Hue that's really a couple "big name/time" coordinators.
