RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Wells size and speed is a great combination, but what really makes him special is his vision and ability to change direction. I believe he is only 18 years old, correct? Imagine him after 1 full year in the tOSU weight program.

and another year with his old trainer Butch Reynolds

6'2" 240-245 sound like way too big. Plus you don't gain speed when you add weight to that frame. Guys what's wrong with that 230 pds that's bigger than 95% of the RBs in the rest of the nation. The size is already there why flirt with the possibilities of him losing speed. Does anyone have a prediction on how many carries he will get next year of anyone who has seen him play.

Mr. Clarett seemed to do pretty well at 6'0" 235... I think Beanie would be ok at 6'2" 240 (beanie is faster than clarett too). Maybe it would be a bad idea, maybe not... but it is possible that the OSU S&C experts could tweak his body correctly while adding more weight.

AJ Hawk was around 230 lbs when he came in, and he got faster after he got here if I'm not mistaken... and he's close to 245 or so now.

reading the thread will answer the last question.

good point. Wells deffinitely has the size, so right now I would just work with his strength, and definitely his speed. Not to say that he doesn't have good speed right now, but faster can only be better. Just work with him on those things and keep him lean, and that would proabably be best. I mean it wouldn't be horrible or really a bad thing if he got up to around 245, but he already has the capability to use speed and cutback abilities so I think the weight he is at right now is good.

I've met him and watched him in games. He has break away speed, I 've talked to his coach and he told me that he has never been caught from behind and I saw a few of those td's runs of his . You know its bad when the speedsters from state track relay teams playing corner in the football games can not catch him from there angles. I saw a few that I even posted on here.
Imagine a faster in shaoe clarret that gets stronger with his speed when he has the 20-30 pounds of pads on. He is a gifted kid with natural talent. I know he has a max of over 400 when he benches. I was told of him by different people about him doing 18 reps of 225 for 10 sets as a joke. Thats sick

When i met him, he was my size and weight but, he could compete as a body builder, he is so cut, he could gain 30 pounds and still look like wr or corner. His legs are huge and his upper body is well balanced to go with his legs. I was sitting next to him and you could see his ABS while he was sitting . How many people can see there ABS when there on there butt. He could be a running back at 250 or more because, the weight he would gain would only make him thicker.

IMO i think he only needs to get faster. he might put on about 5 lbs but they will only fine tweak him for that 5lbs. reason being? the kid has been a MASSIVE weight lifter his whole life and i honesty do not know if he even can get much stronger so there is no need to bulk him up. i would like to see more top end speed from him and thats about it and im sure they can put more speed in him. this may be where his muscle development is most notable. when they put him through extensive lateral movement drills and speed correlated drills he may gain muscle from the training itself that lifting cannot bring out. there really is no need for him to bulk anymore. the most i see him bulking up is 10 at the very most. the kid is already massive from what he did himself.
