9/30/05

Kenmore vs. Garfield at Ellet

Kickoff: 7 tonight.

Records: Kenmore 0-5, 0-1 in the City Series; Garfield 1-4; 0-1.

Coaches: Tony Grimes (15-40) is in his sixth season at Kenmore; Bob Sax (27-13) is in his fourth season at Garfield.

Notebook: Both teams desperately need a win. The Cardinals are looking for their first win of the season, and the Rams are hoping to keep pace in the league race. Garfield has had problems with establishing consistency on either side of the ball, and that has been costly. But a win this week could give the Rams a boost, as they battle to stay in the league race.

Well, bucknut44820 - the most difficult thing in life is proving a negative (or rather the ABSENCE of confirmatory information).

what I can offer is this link at the Akron Beacon Journal. It discusses tonight's games, was posted 9/30/05 and there is no mention of Wells NOT being able to play. Consider the importance of that factor for Garfield in their meet with Kenmore, and Well's high profile in that region. Thus, I consider it most likely that the absence of any information indicating Wells would be absent tonight is close to confirmation that this is not true.

From the ABJ

Garfield 42, Kenmore 18

Chris Wells rushed for 177 yards and scored two touchdowns at Ellet's Orange Bowl to lead the Rams (2-4, 1-1). Kenmore (0-6, 0-2) quarterback Adam Harris threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to put the Cardinals ahead 7-0 in the second quarter. Wells got the Rams' (2-4, 1-1) first touchdown on a 33-yard run in the second quarter and added a 66-yard scoring run in the fourth.
