RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I think Beanie looked great, and it would have been nice to see them running him more when they had a 14 point + lead (to kill the clock) a la Tresselball, but I figured whisenhunt probably had memories of Beanie fumbling the ball a little early in the season.

hopefully, when they look at film, they will decide that they must ride Beanie a little bit more.

I wonder if Nugent's ego felt a little better after watching Rackers flub the field goal at the end of regulation??

Weird watching Beanie stiff arm AJ Hawk on the long run.

i dont understand why people are wanting to see the cards ride beanie more. At this rate he will have a nice long HEALTHY carrier as a RB for a winning team. you give him 30 carries a game and he will get injured eventually as what we saw him do twice here at tOSU. as far as fans of beanie should be we should be happy he only carries 15-20 times a game and gains nearly 100 yards.

Kurt Warner had more TD passes than incompletions. He was 29-for-33 or something ridiculous like that. As long as the ball isn't hitting the ground, there is no difference between the run or the pass as it effects bleeding the clock and shortening the game.

The problem for the Cards with the theory that they should be playing Tresselball is that they can't play defense, so they have to score on every possession to have a shot at winning. Now, I agree that the Cards did mismanage the clock at the end of the game and gave Green Bay a shot to get back in it, but failing to ride Beanie was not the reason. They could have controlled the clock with their passing game and they didn't.

They didn't really mismanage the clock at all. It was 31-10 with 10 minutes to go in the third quarter. They didn't get the ball back until it was 31-24, midway through the third. At that point, you can't really run the clock out.

I guess you can argue that with 7 minutes to go in the game, when it was tied at 38, they could have killed the entire clock and score with a minute to go or something, but that's awfully hard to do.

I thought they managed the clock fine. They had a chip shot FG to win it with 10 seconds to go, and the guy just missed.

As I said, due to the onside kick, the Cards never were in position in that second half to milk the clock. They had a 21 point lead cut to 7 within 5 minutes. Up 7, you can't go with the weaker part of your game (run game), when your passing attack is automatic points.
