RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

And take away the -10 and -5 yard carries he had when the fucking offensive line played matador and you get 100 yards and 20 carries, which is a respectable 4 ypc when the defense is keying on you.

Your calculator also sucks at math. Bucky Katt said, "Taking away the 55 yard dash, he had 85 yards on 27 carries, 3.1 YPC." So, take 2 away from 27 and you get 25...

So you're the one that sucks at math.

True, but you did type "20 carries" in your previous post.

I certainly didn't intend to imply that Beanie didn't deserve it, just NW did a decent job of containing him, outside of that play.

He was definitely finding it easier going in the 2nd half rushing 11 times for 60 yards, versus 17-80 in the first half.

I guess my question to all of you who think that "The Beard" should not have gotten the Big 10 offensive player of the week is who should have gotten it? I don't think you can take one play away from a player because he made that play and how many guys in the Big 10 carry the ball that many times in one game except for maybe Ringer.

I never, ever said that he shouldn't get it. I was just noting that the 28-140 might suggest he ran rough-shod over the Wildcats when that was not really the case.

I'm generally not a fan of the "yeah, well take out this and all he did was that" bit, but it sometimes can prove a point. 17 for 80 in the first half. Less the 55 yarder is 16 for 25, 1.6YPC. Even adding back the two big losses only gives him 14 for 40, less than 3 YPC. NW keyed on him in the first half and, with the exception of one run, did a nice job of bottling him up.

Once Pryor started connecting on some passes, the lanes opened up and Beanie started hitting them with some 8+ yard runs.

Ignoring all that, Beanie is a man, even if he isn't 40. The poor DB on his long run didn't stand a chance of getting him down. He's lucky Beanie broke it to the right side of the field instead of the left, so he only got the left stiff-arm instead of the much nastier right.

No kidding. Taking away the 55 yard dash, he had 85 yards on 27 carries, 3.1 YPC.

And it was no thanks to the line that he got that 55 yard run.

I should have added more to my original post. On most of those 2 yard or less rushes he was hit behind the LOS. I don't care if you are pulling a Bull Durham and telling the D what is coming, if the OL is doing its job the RB at least gets to the line.

Big Game

Chris Wells had a huge game against Northwestern gaining over 100 yards and 2 touchdown also one of his signature long runs for a touchdown being wrapped up behind the line of scrimmage and he still managed to break the tackle and go for a Tudy. This will help him throughout the year.:osu2::osu3:

Great job by Beanie today. The way he was able to move the pile today was just awesome...and that hurdle for man of his size and strength was amazing. Going to miss you big time Beanie. There may never be another one quite like him.

Can't wait to watch him destroy scUM next week!
