RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Mark May (or his writers) think that Chris Wells is going to put up some big numbers (or pad the stats) against the likes of Youngstown St, Ohio, and Minnesota.

It's just another "subtle" way to complain about our schedule. As if every major college football team doesn't play a couple cupcakes before conference play and a couple perrenial dormats in their conference. Fuck them (May and his writers).

And it also ignores the fact that the conference rushed for more yards than any other conference last year.

So when Mark May says that we "only play 2 of last year's top 30 rushing defenses"; OF COURSE there's only one Big Ten team apart from Ohio State on that list. Other conferences didn't rush the ball nearly as much as ours did.

And when Beanie Wells wins the Heisman, Mark May will be first in line to say how he predicted it.

This is the look of a guy who KNOWS about football...

Mark May is the kind of guy that plucks his taint hair one at atime to avoid swamp ass in the summer.

It's just extremely unlikely. People's perceptions of what they think ESPN and other media outlets do is just amazing to me. I find it hilarious that they actually think ESPN is scheming against any one football program and telling people what to say.

Ohio State football: Wells reminds Griffin of Brown, too
Posted by Doug Lesmerises July 29, 2008

As a kid, Archie Griffin's hero was legendary Browns running back Jim Brown. Everything Griffin did playing football back then he patterned after Brown. Now you can add Griffin to the list of football experts who see Brown in Ohio State junior running back Beanie Wells.

"People probably think I'm crazy when I say it, but Chris Wells is the closest thing to Jim Brown that I've ever seen," Griffin said on a teleconference today. "That says a whole lot, I know, but I really believe it."

Ohio State running backs coach Dick Tressel famously made the comparison when Wells arrived in Columbus. Eddie George, Ohio State's most recent Heisman Trophy-winning running back, agreed with that assessment. And Griffin and his two Heisman Trophies have confirmed it.

"Mainly it's his speed, his strength and the way that he brushes people off of him," Griffin said. "People can hit him and just fall off of him."

"I think it's awesome," Griffin said. "It's almost comical when you watch it because it seems like people try to get to him and he just brushes them off of him with that stiffarm. That's one of the reasons I say he really reminds me of Jim Brown."
