RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

A combination of things happened that led to the loss and Beanie getting hurt was a key factor. But, the darn line didn't do it's job! No creases, no running game. Better saddle up and move people next week!
Go Bucks!
Just win, baby!

Yea at times, it looks like he runs up their backs too much, and doesnt have the whole timing of the play down.. at other times he looks like a perfect back.. he does get stronger late though, and seems to get that timing down..

On a negative note, how bout that pitch he dropped.. just another mistake we couldnt afford to make in this game

If he doesn't drop that, he has a lot of room to run. I think he saw all that open field and took his eyes off the ball.

Beanie is amazing and will be a legend by the time he leaves OSU. 1,200 yds and 12TDs as a sophmore is great. There are still two games left and I would not be surprised to see him finish with 1,400yds and 16TDs. It all depends on his injury.

He is fast and extremely tough to bring down. There aren't many RBs I would rather have on my team. Maybe McFadden...perhaps Tebo..er wait he's a FB...well anyway there aren't many I know that.

It's all about scheme.
We had no problem running it down their throats when we went 22.
It was the one-back stuff that caused us problems - our OL weren't quick enough to get a piece of Lehman.

Wells, Taylor share blood, not loyalty in OSU-Michigan clash
BY LARRY PHILLIPS
BuckeyeBuzz.com

NOVI, Mich. ? Ohio State tailback Chris Wells dons scarlet, which makes Billy Taylor, Michigan?s former All-American, all blue, especially this week. Forget that Ohio State?s star is kin. Charles Wells, father of Chris ?Beanie? Wells, is Taylor?s first cousin.

One family, two running backs spread across two generations spearheading the hopes of two schools. The Wells-Taylor clan, based in Akron, is split by college football?s fiercest rivalry, which renews Saturday at noon in Ann Arbor, Mich.

?I?ll hug him after the game and tell him I love him,? Taylor said. ?But if I see him before the game, I?ll say ?Beanie, you?ve got to step aside, because the Wolverines are coming.? ?

That would be a sea-change in this series.

SIMILAR RUNNERS, DIFFERENT ERAS
OSU legend George says Wells possesses greatness

Both running backs have impressive records and they're durable during a grueling season.

By Doug Harris

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State sophomore running back Chris Wells has displayed a combination of speed and power that reminds many of Buckeye legend Eddie George.
But while comparisons with the former Heisman Trophy-winner may be premature, Wells is already proving to be like George in at least one realm: playing in pain.

The Akron native has been dealing with an ankle issue since last spring ? scar tissue from a high school surgery reportedly is causing the discomfort ? and he showed up for media interviews this week wearing a plastic brace to protect his injured right thumb.
But he's rushed for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, racking up 599 yards and six scores in his last four games.

OSU?s Wells learns about rivalry and playing with pain

Jim Naveau | [email protected] - 11.16.2007

COLUMBUS ? When Ohio State tailback Chris Wells was younger, the day of the OSU-Michigan football game wasn?t anything special for him.
But things changed in a hurry when he got to Ohio State last year.
?Growing up in Akron, I really didn?t pay much attention to Ohio State-Michigan actually,? Wells said. ?I was out doing my own thing.?
Wells has done his thing on the field for 1,241 yards rushing this season. He spent his freshman year last fall as Antonio Pittman?s backup, but gave a hint of what was to come when he went 52 yards for a touchdown against Michigan.
It was several hours before that run, which gave Ohio State its first lead of the day, though, that the magnitude of the OSU-Michigan game finally caught up with Wells.
?Last year, I was so nervous. I can remember sitting at the pre-game meal and tears running out of my eyes, just because I had never been a part of something like this,? he said.
