RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

The guy has been a RB since he was a young kid, and he has had 10 games now to work this out. There is zero--absolutely zero--excuse for fumbling the ball in open field with no contact. Pittman is 20-30 pounds lighter and has fumbled the ball once all year (yesterday, after getting the shit beat out of him all day). I've said this before and I'll say it again...when Beanie runs into the line he needs to have both arms wrapped around the ball.

We will need him for The Game. MoWells has a stinger and those things take a long time to heal and as such it's dangerous to play him, so Beanie is going to have to help out Pitt, whether we like it or not. He cannot--must not--fumble in The Game.

sorry man, but stingers dont take a long time to recover from... when i played i got a stinger in my shoulder... the next week i was playing without any pain... all it is is a pinched nerve... it stays sore for about 2 days and after that your almost back to normal

explain marek, clarett etc. extent of the injury is key, its like a "sprained ankle" severity is key

and im well aware of that... but i haven't heard anything about it being severe... also if it was as severe as to be led on... he wouldn't have got in the game on saturday... although he did not run the ball you still would not put a player in the game with an injury that is severe

To stthegreat04 and jimotis4heisman:

You both are correct concerning "stingers".

When I was injured in my senior year in Florida, it took me several weeks to recover from it.

However, my cousin who played semi-pro football recovered in record time.

Therefore, it all depends on your particular healing process. Everyone's body is different. Agree?

In any sport if you are thinking at all you want to be thinking about what you want to do, not what you want not to do. Once it becomes a mental issue it is much harder to address.
its been this way for quite some time now.. im in agreement with the fact he's thinking way too much.. beanie needs to chill and let the game come to him and he will as we all know (hope).. he didnt get to a school like tOSU being a bad ball carrier

so lets make a vbet before the NW game.. will beanie see the field against scUM?

i'd say idk.. on one hand
NO: he's put the ball on the ground too much, and we cannot risk turnovers to relieve pittman since mowells is hurting.. erik haw where are you? (exhales smoke)
YES: we need to get pittman some rest and have the big bodies banging.. this is scUM.. this is Big10 football.. 3 yards and a cloud of bodies.

No excuses though.. its not sleeves, gloves, or him being a frosh.. if that were the case he;d never see the field in the firstplace.. hes a fine tailback and a brusier but he needs to stop thinking and play.

i will be surprised if beanie doesn't get the ball early and often against northwestern. i will also be disappointed if the coaching staff doesn't agree. as i see it, besides having the team remain healthy, exorcising the fumble demons from beanie during the northwestern game should be priority number one. not only will the added experience boost beanie's confidence (that is, if he doesn't fumble), ap will gain some valuable downtime. antonio is a 30-down backer, but he still needs a little rest after this season's effort, especially considering last week's agenda of antonio draw, antonio draw, and antonio draw.

if beanie gets the touches in the scum game, i wouldn't be surprised if he accumulates a better yards per carry amount than antonio does. to be sure, that is not a statement about pittman so much as a statement of how beanie fits against a certain defense. though each of the offense's skill players is instrumental in any win versus a strong opponent, beanie is built for the battle against scum's front seven.

Stingers can vary...I had some stingers and only had to come out for a play and was right back in. With that said they can linger big time and effect your playing ability, so sometimes it's best to sit it out. Regardless I agree with Milani and we really need Beanie to hold on to the ball against scUM.

We ought to start a vBet on when during the Northwestern Game Beanie gets his first carry.

My gut feeling is that Tressel will be watching the whole thing in practice very, very carefully - and still will not put him in to carry till the second quarter. Think he isn't just the slightest bit ticked at the fumbleitis? Think he will want to send a clear message of "never again" that sticks in Chris' mind? I do.

i'll take the under. again, i think that with only one game to go against scum, let northwestern be the ultimate barometer of if, when, and how much beanie is given the ball against tsun. i know, i know... beanie has fumbled repeatedly and one good game against a poor northwestern team should not be exculpatory. i understand that point. however, i look at that scum front seven and then think that beanie was built like a brickhouse for a reason.

i have no idea on where i currently stand with beanie getting touches during the scum game. tressel is validated for playing beanie only in very select situations: 3rd and short from scum's 40 or better. it would be nice, however, to see beanie get the ball without consideration of field position. it's all too bad that it probably won't be the case this season.
