He is quickly becoming one of my favorite Buckeyes of all time. Kid is a stud.

With that extremely macho effort today Carlos moved into the top 10 all time rushing leaders at tOSU. Raymont Harris at #9, consider yourself on watch.

Carlos reminds me a lot of Quiet Storm.

Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde might be better than Eddie Lacy

Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde is a massive thumper, and Saturday he ran through Illinois. Hyde ran for 246 yards and scored five touchdowns (four rushing, one receiving) in the Buckeyes' 60-35 win. He is this year's Eddie Lacy, and Hyde might be better. An All-SEC 2012 season for Alabama launched Lacy's NFL career -- he was a second-round pick of the Packers in April -- and he is a top candidate for offensive rookie of the year this season. His pro career is off to a tremendous start, but I think Hyde's feet might be a little better than Lacy's. He has really helped Ohio State diversify its offense since he came back from that early-season three-game suspension. He has tremendous size and great vision as a runner.

ESPN needs to call up the NFL and tell them the STFU, Hyde is not playing SEC defenses.

Marvelous performance to watch in person.

I can't believe I'm saying this. People know "I <3 Beanie." But...Hyde>Wells. I just love everything about this dude. Such an angry and determined runner. Seriously takes the ball and runs like it's his last chance every time. I swear all he sees is the endzone and just brushes guys off that try to get in his way.

I really hope his attitude rubs off an the younger RBs because it is something special to see. Really special.

Hmmmmhhhhh . . . Lots more loading up against Beanie. Would be interesting to see what Beanie would do on this year's team. Hyde gets the durability edge for sure though.

Yup, Carlos has a durability that Wells always needed.

Durability? Sure. Still rushed for 1600 yds behind a line that would be second string at best on this team, and routinely faced 8 or 9 in the box all game long

Completely different system as well. I love Carlos Hyde, but I'm not ready to put him above Beanie & certainly not in the same category as Eddie.

Yes, but I'll take the guy I can expect to be in the lineup. Beanie, in my opinion, was more talented, but Hyde has other intangibles I prefer.

Both great RBs though.
