If you look at LSU's offense you see a lot of I Form and shotgun. (which I see in the pros BTW) I see some amount of read/option mixed in, nothing compared to dickrod and UM. I don't expect Urban's offense to be 100% shotgun, hopefully he will convey that to Dunn.

No because the offense that Coach Meyer uses is not even close to the offense that RR used. The term "spread offense" is thrown about too loosely now a days. Sure there are aspects of the spread in Coach Meyers offense but I tend to believe that he would adapt his offensive approach to the personnel that he has at hand. Now for Dunn, I would love for him to be a Buckeye, but if he doesnt life will go on. The thing that stings the most is that he would go to TSUN and be a thorn in our side in the future.

One meeting with Urban and Dunn is going to be ALL Scarlet and Gray. Urban is going to bring some game film with him to show him how he used Wynn in his system. How he LOVES big backs like him and that's why he used Tebow so much in the run game. He'll also pull out some LSU game tape and show him how "Stud" used their big backs and how we will be running a hybrid of the LSU/UF Offense. He'll also promise Dunn that the best players will play and it's all up to him how much he gets on the field. IF Dunn believes in himself and doesn't want to be handed a job, he won't shy away from the competition.

Welcome to the board. In answer to your question, because of scholarship limitations, OSU will never be able to take every great instate prospect regardless of position. We had to pass on Pead and Teague (UC) Fitz (UM) and Bell (MSU). We all knew they were great players, but no room:(

If Brionte wants to go to Michigan, that's where he'll go no matter what. But I really think a combo of Urban and Struwada should put to rest any concerns Dunn would have on his role in the offense.

It may really be a depth chart issue, and with that Meyer would make no promises... he's all about coming in a competing with the best... if Dunn doesn't want to compete with Hall, Hyde, Smith and Ball (maybe Berry), then so be it. scUM's main pitch is playing time in my opinion, and that's something they can promise.

i agree with this... also (although i dont think it will happen because it urb) some room could open up if kids want to transfer...

SnG brings up a good point. Tebow would be considered a big back. He used running Tebow out of a shotgun out of necessity because he didn't have the stable of backs we have currently. He did what he could with what he had.

No doubt if he had a backs like Dunn and the stable we have at his disposal, by golly they're gonna use them. See what Studwara's doing with Spencer Ware and the stable of RBs he has at his disposal at LSU, despite being a "spread guy" himself.

How many former Meyer QBs are in the NFL? At least two. How many former Tressel QBs are in the NFL? Zero.

I'm not concerned that Meyer will lead to fewer NFL-caliber QBs considering Ohio State. Nor am I concerned that Meyer's offense would ultimately be different from what Brionte Dunn would like to participate in. But like others have said, Dunn needs to make his own decision here.
