RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

Well, he'll never be mistaken for Barry Sanders or Archie Griffin, that's for sure!
But he does have good, quick feet in the hole, and good vision.
I would imagine before too long he'll make a play that "wows" us all. (and the opposing coach.)

Good points. I just watched that Akron kickoff again and he looks so "normal" after he took the handoff on the reverse. Then as he headed up field, those hashmarks started to disappear at a rate of about one every 1/10th second. He did a similar thing in HS running out of the backfield but once he was north-south he was gone. He didn't need to juke. he simply outran everyone on the field after he turned the corner. IMO, he can run backwards if he wants as long as he scores TDs. The "wow's" are coming.

I know exactly what you mean...but it is much better than it was when he first hit the recruiting scene.

Its that upright, choppy motion...
Agreed, his agility & vision are much better than when I watched him last september vs Grove City. He has definitely taken his game to another level.

Are you trying to tell me that Saines 40 time is 40 seconds? :tongue2:

No. my bad, I see the error of my ways! Fixed it! I meant ten yard marks. Doing it the other way would put his game in slo mo (we can't afford that now can we?). Thanks for the catch and jab. :)

It was a kind of an afternote but on the play when Saine ran the ball into the end zone I was surprised. There the Bucks were just running the clock off and it looks like he was going to be stopped so I looked away for a minute and when i looked back he was blowing smoke down the sideline,. Well of course I had to rewind after the game did end and watch it, and I'm here to tell you that Brandon Saine just plain ran away from the Huskies plain and simple.

He's got a TD in each game so far. At this rate he's could have 12!! maybe 13 with a bowl game! Am I thinking too far ahead? We have some talented RBs. It's looking pretty good from my easychair, NWestern is next.

This is the first time I have seen him. Wow is this kid impressive. He just never gave up on that run for the TD. And you are right, he reminded me of Teddy the way he just ran away from the defense after he got loose. I am really geeked about the Three Headed Monster of Beanie, Maurice and Brandon running the ball for us this year. Scary, very scary.

This TD streak that Brandon has stirred up could get interesting. I watched the end of the Northwestern, er I mean the Duke game, and it looks like we will have multiple touchdowns to spread around next week, including one or more for the defense and/or special teams. Northwestern looked absolutely horrible.

Brandon has an excellent chance to run this thing to 4 for 4.
