Well, I'm changing my prediction to they'll be better. Granted they're a year apart eligibility-wise whilst Brown and Wiiliams were the in the same academic class IIRC, but still I'm betting they'll be one of the best RB tandems in recent memory...

Smooth Olaf;898418; said:Bush/White was special mainly because of Bush. I wouldn't put Saine in Bush's league yet.

White is SC's all time TD leader.

Pete Johnson was the Buckeyes? starting fullback for three years, leading the way for tailback Archie Griffin in 1974 and 1975 and for Ron Springs and Jeff Logan in 1976. But the 6-1, 247-pound Johnson was much more than a just a blocking back. He also was proficient at lugging the pigskin, rushing for 2,308 yards and a school-record 58 touchdowns during his career. To say ?Big Pete? had a nose for the goal line would be an understatement. He led the nation in scoring as a junior, tallying a school and Big Ten record 26 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,059 yards and converted 34 of 44 third-down tries. Johnson set a school record that year with five TDs against North Carolina. In 1976, playing almost the entire season with two sprained ankles, Johnson still rushed for 724 yards and 19 touchdowns. His 156 points in 1975 and 348 career points are still school records.

That combination of Johnson and Griffin is by far the standard here as well as could be anywhere. The fullback gets 58 career TD's and the tailback gets, ho hum, 2 Heisman trophies.
Beanie would definitely have to stay here to reach either of those lofty goals and Brandon's contributions this year and maybe next will be mostly special teams. Now he could possibly break Ted Ginns return record and then become the superstar RB that we all hope will happen. In that case the combination of the two could exceed some of our most historic duos. I'd love to see it happen but thats reaching for the stars. If they both were to actually be here until graduation....goodness!
