RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

Brown and Williams, Johnson and Griffin, Bush and White... it's awesome that we can seriously compare these two and no one has played the "they haven't played a game" card yet. The potential of these two is through the roof. I just can't wait until they get on the field.

I dont agree with you here Taos.. tressel has said many time he will coach to the teams strengths.. if we have a reggie bush you better believe JT is having him touch the ball

I agree BSG, I was just watching some 2004 film. JT used that shot-Ginn formation nearly every down which probably hid the fact that Teddy couldnt run a good route yet... anyways, my point is that JT will adjust the offense to its strengths (or to protect it from its weaknesses). The difference between 2002, 2004 and 2006 prove that point. If JT loves Saine (which it seems like he is pretty impressed already) and he thinks Saine is ready to contribute or at least serve as a decoy, they will get him on the field. IMO all indications say that Saine has enough talent and adequate size to see the field often, so we'll have to see how quickly he produces in those other areas that usually keep young guys off the field like blocking, discipline (playing-wise) and learning his assignments.

I can't wait to see Saine play this year. I hope we at least get to see him run some deep routes down field against YSU to scare the shit out of all of our future opponents. Even if the ball is not thrown to Saine, I still want to see him just blow by everyone.

I remember when I still lived in Piqua (Brandon's sophomore year of HS), and he was lightyears ahead of everyone on the field. And then against Troy the next year, he carried the Indians to a victory when I was back in town.

I said earlier that Beanie and Brandon ("Killer Bs?") could could rival Auburn's vaunted combo of Ronnie Brown and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams. Well, I'm changing my prediction to they'll be better. Granted they're a year apart eligibility-wise whilst Brown and Wiiliams were the in the same academic class IIRC, but still I'm betting they'll be one of the best RB tandems in recent memory...
Brandon spent time in two back sets with Beanie, so your prediction may come true sooner than later.
