I saw only a few games with Pittman, but I remember him having some good mitts. The Saints like to throw to their backs, and I think he is a good fit for us. Can pound it, and can catch it. I don't know anything about his blocking skills, but if he can help pass protect, he is a steal.

The five-practice minicamp concluded with a single workout Monday. The players are off today, then the surviving participants, with the exception of running back Antonio Pittman, a fourth-round draft choice, will join the veterans in the offseason program Wednesday. Pittman will return after he concludes classes at Ohio State.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The Saints soon will get their first chance to work with fourth-round draft choice Antonio Pittman since a 3-day rookie camp in early May.
The running back was prevented from participating in Saints' practices during the past month by Ohio State's class schedule. The NFL prohibits college players from cutting short their spring semesters to train with their new teams.
Coach Sean Payton says Pittman is expected to arrive in New Orleans tonight and begin taking part in offseason workouts, known as Organized Team Activities, tomorrow when training will be closed to reporters.

I applaud Pitt for covering his bases and working on his degree! :bow:
No matter what, he will have made a great life for his family and hisself!
Even if he's just getting the minimum salary.($477,000)

If you are reffering to the just getting to the OTA workouts, this isn't about working towards his degree, it is an NFL rule. It has been a bit of a problem for some OSU draft picks, espically the ones who are at risk of being cut, because OSU graduates so late compared to most schools.

Pittman looks for silver lining in wearing black-and-gold

METAIRIE, La. -- When a young Antonio Pittman played pickup football in the streets of Akron, Ohio, the player he sought to emulate was an undersized workhorse for the Buffalo Bills' Super Bowl squads of the 1990s.
"I used to like Thurman Thomas," Pittman recalled after an offseason training session at the New Orleans Saints' headquarters this past week. "He was a back that did a lot and didn't receive a lot of credit. That's how I'd paint my career at Ohio State: Did a lot, didn't receive a lot of credit."In his last two seasons with the Buckeyes, the 5-foot-11, 207-pound Pittman rushed for 2,564 yards and 21 touchdowns. He lost only two fumbles in three seasons.

I know we all here love pittman, i think he's probably referring to playing in Troy Smith & Ted Ginns shadow since they got the most pub.. not to mention players like aj hawk or holmes the season before last.
