RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

Some NFL team is going to be very smart, and very lucky, and draft this young man. You've got to feel for him, torn as he was between proving himself once again at Ohio State and now looking to prove himself in the NFL. Much of the decision making swayed by a need to provide for his family. Glad to hear a clear intent to finish his degree and bring the diploma back to Buchtel as an inspiration to future alumni.

Best of luck to Antonio, a credit to the Buckeyes while in Columbus, I trust he will be a credit to the institution when he walks onto the NFL playing fields on Sundays.

No question about it. Antonio was very good to tOSU. He gave us confidence and stability in the running game at a time when a lot of Buckeye fans were really developing a distrust for our inability to move the ball on the ground. He not only has breakaway speed, but he also has an ability to break tackles and be a power back. He's exactly what an NFL running back should be.

Finally, he seems like such a great person--it would have been really easy for him to bellyache and whine about all the attention Beanie was getting and how he had to share a lot of carries with a true freshman, which surely diminished his numbers. He not only never complained about the situation, but you could easily tell that it was very important to him to take Beanie under his wing and make sure that Beanie could carry on the torch once Pittman left. By the end of the season, you could tell that there was a great relationship between the two, one in which each was the other's biggest fan.

Antonio was an outstanding player, and we should all be extraordinarily proud of the example he set. Best of luck to him.

I don't think anyone who saw his announcement today was anything but impressed with the fortitude this young man brings. He seems to be as focused off the field as he is great on it. What a pleasure to watch Pitt turn into one our our best TB's ever over the past two seasons. Plus, his game winner in 2005, and 56 yarder this year against scUM will be talked about for years to come.

Have a great combine Pitt and "up" that draft status. I have no doubt you'll succeed at the next level, but a little more $$$ up front would be great for you and your family. Thanks for the three great years, it's been a pleasure to have "you" represent "us."
