RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

Marshawn plays with ballet shoes on, know what I'm saying?

I love the kid, love the energy he brought to Cal football, but there would be times when I would just be yelling "NORTH SOUTH, MARSHAWN, NORTH SOUTH."

But at other times he is just dazzling with his ability to break mad tackles. AND he was playing on two sprained ankles all season.

He doesn't have the consistency that we've come to know and love from Pitt.

Marshawn will do well in the right system.

Yeah, he'd be good for screens, draws, and gadgets. I'm not really one to doubt anyone's abilties, because you never know the limits of an individual. I very well may be bias, but I'd take Pitt.

NFL Scouting Combine

Prospects from OSU ready to turn heads

Pittman, Smith, Ginn join UA's Getsy, Alleman

By Marla Ridenour

Beacon Journal sportswriter

After training for the NFL Scouting Combine with Ohio State assistants Eric Lichter and Butch Reynolds, Antonio Pittman wasn't inclined to make a bold prediction.
The junior tailback did hint that he might turn some heads when he runs the 40-yard dash Sunday during the NFL's annual meat market at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
``The 40's going to be good,'' Pittman said with a grin.

Cont'd...

NEAL C . LAURON DISPATCH Ohio State?s Antonio Pittman is projected by some to be a second- or third-round pick in the NFL draft.
INDIANAPOLIS ? Talk to teammates and coaches, and Ohio State running back Antonio Pittman is considered a lock to succeed in the NFL.
Talk to scouts and draft analysts, and more questions arise.
That is the quandary facing Pittman as he prepares for the NFL draft. Pittman, just one of five Buckeyes to have consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, said at the NFL scouting combine yesterday that it?s his goal to be a first-round pick

I would not be AT ALL surprised if someone picks Pitt and he ends up starting by the end of his rookie season. I couldn't believe how many rookie backs either started or played key roles on their NFL teams last year. I think Pitt is going to make some NFL team VERY happy in either the late 1st or early 2nd round.

I spoke to him last night, he said he was getting alot of interest from the staffs of the Giants and the Steelers. I'm not sure what the Giants' needs are, but they should take a hard look at him. He has the work ethic to succeed anywhere he goes.

I'm assuming the Giants interest is based on the fact that they will probably want a back to split time with Brandon Jacobs.
