QB1 Will Howard (Official Thread)

Will Howard injury update: What happened to Ohio State’s QB vs. Michigan State football

Ohio State quarterback Will Howard was injured in the second quarter of the Buckeyes’ Big Ten opener at Michigan State football on Saturday.

On a pass attempted for receiver Carnell Tate, Howard was hit in the backfield by a defender. He stayed down on the field before walking off gingerly.

“I just got the wind knocked out of me,” said Howard after the Buckeyes’ 38-7 win.

Just sayin': It's just good to know it was nothing serious......:boogie:

We couldn’t have asked for a better starter… we really couldn’t have.

From his demeanor, his leadership, his accuracy, and his ability to run.

This was the guy we needed.
Just sayin': Yeah, Will Howard is "fitting in" pretty good; however, I can think of 1 guy that might be a better QB1 (i.e. had he not transferred).

I Would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned about Howard’s underthrow to JJ (a couple other times so far this year) and his seeming willingness to throw the ball into heavy traffic and “up for grabs”. But it’s working out very well so far.

Yeah he maybe has 1 under throw a game and 1 “wtf” throw a game.

But he’s pretty much dialed in on the other 18 throws.

As long as he’s not throwing multiple INTs a game then I hope he stays aggressive

I think he's seeing things a quarter second too late on some of those throws and doesn't have the arm to make up for it. I thought maybe it was inaccuracy but his throws have great placement, they're just late.

He'll keep getting better but it's probably just something the team will have to account for against great defenses. Luckily he just had the quietest 5 TD I can remember so he'll make up for it.

The threat of him keeping an RPO with these RB's is devastating to the Defense.

Waiting for more of the 3rd option to poke it's head up right about this Saturday night when he fakes both and goes downfield after the safety has already bit on the runs. We've seen a glimpse but this week with an over aggressive Defense in Oregon, there could be some magic brewing.

Yes. Was just saying this to my dad. Smkth and EE running wide open on some RPO keeps or dump offs. It will happen
