QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Greg Oden has decided that he is going to retire from basketball and transition to football since he can wear pads. Being as big and tall as he is, he can wear a lot of them and thus, would become indestructible. He has filed a petition with the NCAA to play his remaining years of eligibility out as a RB for the Buckeyes. Based on some prior cell phone picture evidence, Pyro Kinesis would approve. Best 7 ft college RB EVER.

have you seen pryor pass? he is not sunday material, unless its north of the 49th...
NFL scouts are not unanimous in agreement with this; some say he's been a very efficient college QB and that there's no reason to think he can't be the same in the NFL.

I don't know, myself. But Philip Rivers has the oddest throwing motion I've ever seen, and he has crafted a pretty good NFL career.

How do YOU know he's 7 ft? We all know there's only one way to know for sure.

he also can deliver the football. something #2 cannot do. he has limitations, and nearly all of them involve throwing the ball. hes a physical freak, but his ability to make all the throws is not there to anyone willing to be completely honest.

Again, not all NFL scouts agree. Some do, of course. We'll find out within a few years in any event.

 Terrelle doesn't have a weird delivery that gets the ball there. He is very hesitant with the ball, has poor accuracy on short & intermediate passes. He throws a good (not great) deep ball, eludes the rush well and can make plays as a scrambler as long as he doesn't think a big hit will be involved.

You would honestly think since ESPN is overly consumed with Ohio State news right now that the editors or employees could spell Terrelle Pryor's damn name right.

SportsNation poll on frontpage of ESPN.com (at 10:30 pm ET):

What should Terrell Pryor do?

I guess that's better than "Terrelle Prior". We're going on 10-straight days an OSU story will be on the front page of ESPN to end the night (Midnight eastern). If it hits 20 days, it'll surely be some sort of record.

Scouting reports on Phillip Rivers
POSITIVES: Play-making quarterback with a great feel for the position and game. Sets in the pocket with solid footwork, does a terrific job selling the ball fakes then scans the field, buying as much time as possible. Patient, in total control of the offense and makes smart decisions. Natural looking off the safety, stands strong against the rush and works hard to make positive plays. Sharp and accurate in the short game; leads receivers on crossing patters, puts zip on intermediate throws and has a great sense of timing. Knows were the receivers are on the field and puts passes where only his wide outs can make the reception. Instinctive, possesses great football intelligence and a leader in every sense of the word. Turned in a tremendous performance at the Senior Bowl after an illustrious collegiate career

NEGATIVES: Has a terrible throwing motion that is best described as awkward. Pushes the ball or whips it from the side and falls out of his throws. Looks like he's throwing a heavy ball and constantly changes his point of release. Cannot drive the deep pass and not accurate down the field.

ANALYSIS: Rivers is the type of prospect that will draw much debate and discussion leading up to and after draft day. While many criticize his mechanics and throwing fundamentals, you can not overlook his accuracy or ability to lead a team. May not be a quarterback for everyone and can only fit certain schemes, but a solid first-round selection that could quickly break into a starting lineup at the next level.
He's basically the opposite of Terrelle Pryor.

also of note, is known to play with a visor from time to time. also unknown his views of no touch icing, but id guess hes a strong advocate (based on what i have seen of his running down the sidelines, etc). granted he has a man stiff arm when he wants to throw it.

...says the guy who has the benefit of hindsight. I know that a lot of other people here on bp thought just as I did las Thursday--are you calling them out and playing armchair qb on their posts too, or just mine? :roll2:
Yes I am calling them out, primarily because many of us have felt that this was going to happen since March and at every bump along the way someone chimes in to say we're over the top with pessimism or disrespectful to players or coach or are somehow less Buckeye. Heck, uf has been saying for weeks that there is more to come and gets bashed each time for it. So yeah, when I saw your comments so strongly adamantly stating that we weren't in high shit, it blew me away. I'm tired with all the excuses and "this isn't a big deal" posts because it has been obvious since March that our situation was really poor and getting worse by the day.

So yeah, a lot of other people also shouted down at some fairly reasonable posters who said this was pretty bad, but your diatribe was over the top when it was clear that our football program was a hot mess.
