Give it a rest. Who do you think uncovered the Alabama fan poisoning the trees in Plain City, or wherever the hell Auburn is? Who shit on Cam Newton's parade?

In fact, given the intensity of the rivalries in the SEC, I'd guess you can count on the media from the other guy's city to be watching your program very, very carefully.

And while you're at it, do you think reporters in Lansing don't watch what goes on in Ann Arbor?

I appreciate the good moments with Terrelle, including his acceptance of the punishment and taking responsibility after the Sugar Bowl, but it seems that the time has come to move on.

Edit: I overlooked the obvious, why are you bringing up rival papers? The point is a tuscaloosa or Gainesville paper is not going to bite the hand that feeds it like this.

But then you maybe were never a property book officer in the army/navy/marines/air force where you were held accountable for all the equipment of the 150 men and six officers in your company. It can be done.

so by leaving, he basically doesn't have to answer any questions now from the NCAA. If they uncover stuff dealing with TP, obviously they can't do anything to him, but does that still fall on to the University? Like vacating wins or something? How does all that work since he left, if they find anything. Does this help osu in the long run, or have little effect?

Your statement implies - at best - that improprieties go on at Florida similar to the current problems at tOSU, but which escape discovery with the aid of a complicit local press, or - at worst - that we engage in even shadier behavior that what you have admitted to and been accused of, with UF only escaping the notice of the NCAA due to our local press refusing to investigate our otherwise readily discernible violations.

And while the "local press hiding our sins by refusing to report" theory is not impossible, a more plausible hypothesis is that UF's administration has yet to document a 10.1 violation by our coach, nor have John Brantley or Tim Tebow before him broken NCAA rules.

And none of that is to say that we are choir boys at Florida (see the widely discussed number of arrests ), or that a similar lens focused on Hogtown would not find a variety of things that the NCAA would find improper.

So while I'm not saying we are "better" or "more ethical" than tOSU - you currently have zero grounds to suggest that the Gainesville Sun & company refuse to investigate and report NCAA violations because they are "hometown" press, or to imply that an an excuse for an absence of more reporting of Florida wrong doing.

I think we all need to be open-minded about this.

Ubet, can you please provide a link to a local expose on the proportion of those arrests that resulted in charges being dropped? I mean, like we've seen in Columbus recently, with local reporters camping on the doorsteps of officials, coaches and players. You know, using freedom of information requests to dig into the topic and the like.

I'm sure that will put an end to this discussion immediately.

I'm not implying that UF is cheating and getting away with it because of the press. I Apologize if that came across that way.

I do wonder how long the sun would retain its credentials if they were leaking practice secrets and trick formations Urban was working on for the BCS bowl game.

Perhaps a more relevant question would be the tangible history here. Was the sun this relentless back when rumors first swirled during your NCAA issues a few decades back ?

In general the dispatch has not been like this, whereas the Detroit media has always been eager to tear down UM.

On the field Pryor played well for the Buckeyes. Off the field is another matter.

But now let us turn the page.

2011 will be an exciting and interesting year for the Fb Buckeyes.

We will truly see if a team and coaches can overcome adversity.

Crying over the spilled milk will do nothing but agitate an already rabid Buckeye Nation. I think many are already too agitated..lol:wink2:
