QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

OSU notebook: Coach indicates Pryor will return as starter
Friday, February 4, 2011
By Ken Gordon and Tim May
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Several others will compete to be Ohio State's No.1 quarterback to start the season, but it appears that senior Terrelle Pryor - who has been suspended by the NCAA for the first five games - will be considered the starter in absentia.

Quarterbacks coach Nick Siciliano indicated as much. He's preparing to find a replacement from senior Joe Bauserman, sophomore Kenny Guiton, redshirt freshman Taylor Graham and highly regarded freshman Braxton Miller, who enrolled in OSU last month.

Siciliano was asked whether it would be hard to sit down a replacement who might be playing well through the first five games. He used the example of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who reinstalled Ben Roethlisberger after his four-game suspension.

"We have a recent example of a quarterback missing some time and then taking his team to the Super Bowl when he got his job back," Siciliano said. "I would foresee (Pryor) getting his job back. That's just my opinion right now."

Kiper has TP as his no. 5 QB for the 2012 draft....
Analysis: This is an interesting list off the bat. Luck will command the most attention, for sure. Even with a new coach, he will be a front-runner for No. 1 in the 2012 NFL draft from August onward. Weeden put up video game-esque numbers in Stillwater and could do it again with Justin Blackmon returning. He does lose his OC -- although look at how low his sacked number is. Terrelle Pryor is always interesting: Will he project to the NFL as a QB? And how will that five-game suspension affect him? Foles has all the measurables.

I find this quite commical, since when all the stuff went down with Pryor and company Kiper was saying that he thinks that TP projected as a TE. Which I find even more commical because why would an NFL team put someone who has never been developed as a blocker put that person on the edge. Now WR I could see and even then it would take some time to get him polished at that position. I guess the Ravens told him thats where they would put him so thats what he repeats.

Pryor is not fond of contact and you're going to put him in the trenches? That's what made that projection so laughable.

He's a stretch to go over the middle against safeties 1-2 times a game as a WR, let alone 300 lb linemen 30+ times.

I don't know if he's coached to not do it, or if it's his own doing, but blocking is not something TP does.

I'm getting pretty fucking pumped up for some spring practices to start. Five game suspension be damned.
