Thats the one thing I've always appreciated about TP. He can play through a lot of pain. That's my fondest memory of the Rose Bowl is knowing he did all he did roughing it out with that PCL. He certainly is no [Bosh].

Yet he had the 2 longest runs of his career this year and by far his best ypc. I'll take that over what he did in '08.

...and to think of where his passing abilities were then to where they are now. He ran in '08 because he couldn't make the necessary reads, drop backs, or throws over the middle to succeed passing on a consistent basis. He's a threat back there, but it's not only because of his legs anymore.

A quarterback's father (a reverend, by the way) shopped his son like you shop a used car on Craigslist. There were public denials and lies from Cecil Newton but never an apology or explanation after he got caught.


Compare that to Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, one of five Buckeyes players who sold championship rings and memorabilia in exchange for money and/or discounted tattoos. Pryor not only apologized to his teammates, but he apologized on national television after the Buckeyes beat Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl. Accountability matters.

Although the reasons for their suspensions were quite different, I'm thinking that seeing the Steelers' QB miss the first 4 games of the season, and still end up playing in the Super Bowl, can help motivate TP from now until he's able to play in games again.
