QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Dick Rod gifted the Buckeyes a spot in the NCG when he blew it in the Backyard Brawl in 2007.
Actually, Rich Rod and Missouri gifted both OSU and LSU with the NCG... OSU was ranked #3 and LSU was ranked #7 before the turmoil of the last week. OSU got in with the Missouri's loss, LSU got in with WVU's loss.

EDIT: Looking back at the start of those games (WVU started at 7:45PM, Missouri at 8:00PM) WVU may have lost first but I don't care enough to dig past those start times.

I remember rooting for Oklahoma (against Mizzou). I think the Oklahoma game was well in hand towards the end so I actually wanted WVU to win so we would play them in the title game. WVU game ended first though.

Hooley did not say anything about Archie's comments that I heard.

He is sticking to his guns that Tressel should sit all of them for the Sugar Bowl and he maintains that throught Twitter and everything else that 80% of Buckeye fans feel the same way.

I haven't heard many callers that disagree with him. I usually like Hooley, but I disagree with him on this one.

It's amazing to hear what some people want out of these guys. Pay their scholarship back, bar them from the NFL if they are under NCAA suspension. These guys didn't murder someone for crying out loud.

I love the guy, but I think it's best for him and the program that he move on. No hard feelings, he'll always be a Buckeye and might've been our best ever QB, but it didn't work out that way and it's time to set things right and let the next potential best ever QB step up.

After he wins us the Sugar Bowl, of course.

I, for one, hope Pryor comes back. Ohio State is a better football team with him. Frankly, people who think Braxton Miller is going to come in and take over sound as silly to me as those people up north who have had any number of flavor of the week freshman QB hopes.

I hope Miller is so good that he comes in and puts a stranglehold on the QB position. But, I'm not going to bet on it. Until Miller enters camp and demonstrates otherwise, my money's on Pryor being the best QB option on Ohio State's roster next season (of course, assuming he returns).

I agree. There is a silver lining in all of this. Some youngsters are going to get opportunities to play a lot more than they might have otherwise. I don't like it going into Nebraska, but kids are just going to have to put their hands up and step up. I think they can do it.

Is it fair to the kid, though, who (presumably one will emerge) will practice with the ones and play the first five games to just make him a placeholder for Pryor to play out the year? They're (Guiton, etc.) Buckeyes, too, who have waited for their shots and Pryor won't be missing half of the season because of injury.

Not only that, tOSU has to look toward 2012, Pryor doesn't. I'm not saying it's time for him to go out of hurt feelings or some bull like that, I just think it makes sense for everyone. If he was a sophomore, it would be different.

Yeah, it's fair. They will either be better at the QB position than Pryor, or they will not be better. Pretty simple, in my view. Best player plays.

If you want to talk about fair in some other sense of the word, I'm afraid I'm not interested in that debate.

Like I said earlier, 1 loss without Pryor won't knock us out of the NC race. A loss without him is worth a lot less than a loss with him. People might be very willing to move us up if he comes back and we win out (including a conference championship, obviously).

Go Bucks. He ought to come back. He can play at least 8 games; 9 if we make the conference championship; 10 if his suspension is reduced and we make the conference championship.

Why do we need to look toward 2012? You get ready for 2012 IN 2012. Don't recall a time that Tressel has ever benched the best option in favor of who might play next year. The guy/guys that get a chance to play should relish their opportunity and make the most of it.

The team doesn't owe it to any 1 player to continue to go with them when better options are available, Guiton/Bauserman/Graham and/or Miller are essentially getting a crack at more playing time then they would have had otherwise don't see where they would have room to legitimately complain. If Pryor had gotten hurt and missed 5 games then returned the situation wouldn't be any different.

We may very well still be undefeated when Pryor and co comes back and at the very least we would still completely control our own destiny towards winning the Big Ten championship. People are acting like the season is down the drain before it's even started
