QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

After seeing how the back up QBs faired in short playing time this year I'm not convinced that there is a better option at QB even if Miller comes in early.
I have doubts any would hold the job once TP served out his suspension. And TP greatly needs the time in the college game to improve his chances as a pro QB.
That being said, we don't know if he could deal emotionally with sitting for 5 games. Even if it's probably in his best interest.

I thought Guiton looked pretty good in some playing times that we have seen.
Another thing, how much time will it take for Braxton Miller to see the whole game. At first it will be fast for him to take it all in. One thing for sure is, Coach Tressel will have some real teaching time all over again come next spring and fall. Should prove to be very interesting to see how it all un-folds.

A little bit of silver lining is this could be beneficial to him. He said he was cocky as a youngster well this gives him a major humbling. If he comes back he can use the extra time to not only improve himself and his mechanics but also improve as a leader. Helping the younger kids out with everything and doing whatever he can to help the team while he is not playing.

he also did it two years ago. you can only be a "cocky youngster" for so long.

He doesn't really have an option other than bolting for the NFL. That wouldn't be in his best interest. Watching from the sidelines, practicing with the scout team, being a leader for the team, and helping the new QBs should be his focus going forward. Yes this is a humbling experience. Sitting out the games will hurt his stats but will improve his maturity. It may hurt his ego will certainly give him a new appreciation for respect. That little flare up that we saw a few times when he felt he could make a 4th and 1 instead of succumbing to the coaches call for a FG, will be held in check. I see this as a character building experience being administered by one of the best coaches in the land. TP won't achieve that legacy that he hoped for at tOSU, but he will be better prepared for life and what lies ahead for him. Long term gain - short term loss.

Spot on post and to add imho I believe it could be the difference between him drafted as a qb versus the athlete label. If he goes right now he will be looked at as an athlete. If he finishes at tOSU works on his mechanics and reading defenses then he has the potential to really elevate his status to nfl qb. He needs to show that he has continued the growth that we have seen and taken it to another level.

His footwork and short passing game still needs work, I hope he comes back working harder than ever to continue his growth. If the suspension is for 4 games this team has the potential to have another special season. He could have a 2500 yard season if he has 9 games and works his butt off. Posey will be back, Philly will be much better next year. Stoneburner will be back and improved. He will have more than enough weapons. Go Bucks

Archie Griffin was on with Bruce Hooley today.

He stated that all 5 athletes visited him at his home yesterday to talk. He said that all 5 were remorseful and they regretted what they had done and how it had affected the former players, alums and fans.

He believed them and he also said that it's time for everyone to move on from this. They have a game to get ready for were, I believe, Archie Griffin's words.

If Archie has forgiven them and thinks that they have been sufficiently consequenced for their actions then that's all I need.

I'd love to know how Hooley was able to respond to this.

I wonder sometimes if Pryor could have been better as a tight end. Lets say if Braxton Miller comes out and proves his worth in the 5 games during the suspension period, wouldn't it be worth a try to fit Pryor into that position. I mean after all his Heisman dreams would be gone don't you think? Lets say Ohio State is 5 and O when the suspensions were over with, wouldn't it be worth to try?

Wrong. We got into the title game because Dick Rod is a shitty coach.
Uh, DickRod wasn't even the coach at scUM yet, Einstein.

But, your post did prompt me to find Boeckmans stats - he wasn't all that bad..

Boeckman 2007:
64% passer @ 2,379 yards 25 TDs/14 INTs

Terrelle Pryor 2010:
66% passer @ 2,551 yards 25 TDs/11 INTs
Holy fucking shit...did you even watch the last three regular season games of 2007?

Boekman was an interception machine with happy feet. The 3 int's in the Illinois game did not make me happy.
