QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

It's a fair point. But don't expect a competitior to be happy about it. Terrelle wanted 7 and the trust of the coaching staff and he didn't get it.

Thats why JT is the Head Coach. He makes the calls. But it's also what made John Elway, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, etc. great. I've seen all of those guys show up coaches on the sidelines in disapproval. And by show up I mean outwardly disapprove of a decesion...

It's those moments that also make great coaches. I don't expect JT to be that upset with Terrelle because he was [censored]ed the coaches decided to take the 3. If Terrelle were happy with the call, there's probably something wrong with him. I had no problem with it at all...

No, but you should have a problem with how he handled it. He has to know not to show up the coach and not to question his decisions in such a public way as that. The Head coach is the leader of the team. He deserves that respect. If TP wants to be the leader on the field I don't think he wants the receivers to be yelling at him on the sidelines every time he does not see the open receiver. If TP is OK at yelling at Coach for his play calling then he should be of with Herbstriet criticizing his QB play. Grow a thicker skin kid if you want to be a leader.

Congrats to TP for going on the road and beating a very good team, I believe top 15 team. I am not sure this has happened for him in the Big 10 since his freshman year against Wisky. I know he went to PSU last year and won but I thought Iowa would be a much tougher task for him. Honestly I had doubts that he could really step it up and he did. Great job by the Buckeyes. Go Bucks

I thought TP made some big throws yesterday, along with a few head scratchers. That being said, he also had at least 4 dropped passes yesterday, which were all good throws. In the end, he found a way to get a win in Iowa City. He stepped up when the Bucks needed someone to lead them. Great game TP.

To the extent our passing game was less than optimum yesterday, it was more a function of the receivers than of the passer. No QB throws every ball perfectly, and though our receivers have been remarkably sure-handed on the whole throughout this season, that wasn't the case against Iowa.

It think Pryor had a very good game yesterday. The only throw I was disappointed in was the long INT he threw at the end of the first half. I thought he had plenty of room to get a first down with his legs there and didn't need to force something. Other than that, if the receivers didn't have a case of the dropsies, he would have had an outstanding day in the passing area.

In regards to the sideline antics, he was obviously frustrated with how the routes were run and expressing that frustration to JT. Also, the announcers did say that the wind may have had something to do with that long INT in the endzone.

No matter what, I am glad that Pryor is a Buckeye. :osu:

Good game in a very tough place against a team that plays tougher than its W/L record would appear. We take it and move on.

As for TP, I think pulling it together and getting the first down on the long fourth after Posey dropped the TD on third was tremendous mentally and physically. I'm not sure how many qbs could've pulled that off under all of the circumstances, including Newton or Troy Smith.

So you have no problem with all the check-down passes and screens he threw at his receiver's feet? Those were just fine to you? And the lofted balls he tossed to receivers who couldn't get YAC because the ball took ten seconds to get there - you're cool with those too?

He did what he had to do to win in the end, but I thought it was a very frustrating game by Pryor.

So you're saying you prefer substance over style? How shallow of you.

We will just ignore all of those passes. If you look beyond that, he is the greatest QB Ohio State has every seen.

No reasonable person has stated he's the best OSU quarterback ever. When he came his mechanics were very bad. They've improved every year, with a year to go. While he's still not where he wants to be (or we would like him to be), I'm still glad he's a Buckeye and doesn't play for someone else.

Um, what game were you watching? The one I was watching showed about 7 dropped passes by the receivers. Yes, he threw over Posey's head once while Hyde was wrapped around his waist, and one low and behind Sanzo at the sidelines on a roll out. The one that the announcers said was too low for Stoney hit him in the hands just below the waist and he dropped it, and the other that Stoney dropped hit his hands at his hips. Pryor has no control over the dropped passes. As far as check downs are concerned, he had one errant toss that Clayborn deflected. The rest were caught (save the one Herron took his eyes off of in the 1st and let go through his hands) and there were YAC, so have no clue what you are referring to there.

As far as the screens you refer to, I believe we ran a total of 1, that herron caught and Boren wiffed on a block that helped stop the play short. So, if I missed one, please enlighten me.

If you have it on DVR, I suggest you go back and watch without emotion and really look at what Pryor did in that game. Also, as a side note, the kid was holding his shoulder the whole game after he took that pop from the Iowa safety in the first half, so I am pretty sure he was in pain the rest of the way.

Just because he wasn't 80% on passes (which he could have been if the receivers weren't dropping everything), doesn't mean he had a bad game. Oh, and since watching it again, the second pick was thrown behind Sanzo and was deflected out of his hands and into an INT, so that wasn't so great now that I have watched the game again.

Good Lord, people. You expect this kid to be John freakin' Elway or Joe Montana or something. He has progressed big time since he got here. The kid has done nothing but win here.

Watch the game again, please, and watch how this kid goes through his reads now, where as last year he threw to the first read about every single time. He is not perfect, but he is a heck of alot better this year than last.

Call me a homer, call me blind to his imperfections (which I am not) but you are nuts if you thought he had a bad game yeasterday. He did every thing that HE could do to make sure OSU won that game. Posey, Sanzo, Stoney (x2), Herron, Brown (x3) all had drops yesterday. Don't act as if the problems on offense were all Pryor's fault.
