QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I think we've all been expecting a year like Cam Newton is having this year from TP. I know I have. I personally don't think Newton is anymore talented than TP......so why haven't we seen the consistency? Is it the offense? Is it his perfectionism that in a strange way, makes him play tense at times?

I'm not saying he's not been brilliant at times....lots of times. I just think a lot of us figured he'd be putting up some of these numbers....probably TD numbers that we've seen Newton has put up this year.

I also think a lot of people have forgotten that he hurt his wheel against Illinois.

I don't know why anyone would be expecting "numbers" out of our QB anyway.

The only numbers important in my book are 12-0. Now, I'm going to go ahead and guess that these aren't the numbers you're referring to.

TP's position on this team is to lead the offense and score points so the team can win. His only priority on the field is improving himself and winning. He's doing that. Personally, I would be concerned if TP was putting up Cam Newton's numbers this year because that would mean he would have to be playing 4 quarters in most games, running the ball an unnecessary amount of times and generally being the entire offense. Gaudy numbers like that are not a signifier of talent, but a signifier of dependency. Just ask Urban Meyer how that's working out for him. There really is no precedent for numbers like that to be put up when said player is not the vast majority of the offense. Truth of the matter is that TP is in his 3rd year playing college football after being practically baptized by fire in his freshman year. The progress he has made is producing wins and THAT is the only true signifier of success.

Would I like TP to be better at certain things? Yes, of course. But I'd also like pigs to be genetically modified to be the size of cattle so the bacon:my plate ratio is infinitely greater on the whole, but it just so happens that it is not the case and I still fucking love bacon and would never compare it to sausage because it's never going to BE sausage. Shit, I'm hungry now...brb

Seriously... Yelling at Tress on the sidelines, lets talk about accountability for throwing a bad pass. Step up and make a play, or sit down and let someone else do it.

I'd say look at the whole picture first. It was a frustarting start to the series. A bad throw, yes. But the first half was just poorly put together, and then you had the 4th and 1 that Tress didn't pull the triggger on.

Terrelle is a competitor and he understands the intricacies of the game much moreso now than last year or as a freshman. I think he's getting frustarted beyond making a bad play and letting some emotion out...its deeper.

You mean the 3 points that eventually was the difference in the game? He's obviously a fiery competitor but sometimes you need to shut your mouth and trust that the guy running the show knows what he is doing.

It's a fair point. But don't expect a competitior to be happy about it. Terrelle wanted 7 and the trust of the coaching staff and he didn't get it.

Thats why JT is the Head Coach. He makes the calls. But it's also what made John Elway, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, etc. great. I've seen all of those guys show up coaches on the sidelines in disapproval. And by show up I mean outwardly disapprove of a decesion...

It's those moments that also make great coaches. I don't expect JT to be that upset with Terrelle because he was [censored]ed the coaches decided to take the 3. If Terrelle were happy with the call, there's probably something wrong with him. I had no problem with it at all...

Same here. If I'm coach I want my guy yelling at me over that. Shows me he's 100% in the game and ready to compete. I did, however, think that Tress should've went for that one. But I've always felt that inside the 1 yard line, you go for it. If it's longer than that, kick it. Turned out fine so I'll take it...

Made some great plays at the end of the game. Clutch moments in dire situations. But I think the last 2 games is an example of why he needs to come back for 1 more year, to work on his passing. If he improves next year as much as he did this year, I think were looking at the top quarterback next year.

It was a frustrating day for TP for sure. Without the dropsies he probably goes for close to 300 passing yards. Hell, Brown alone would have had 60. Sanzo another 15. And Posy dropped the 3rd down pass early in the game that he could have turned into some yards...and of course the big drop.

Both int's were tipped balls. The first one was thrown way late. The second one was just a touch behind the receiver. TP didn't play great, but his receivers didn't help im out much.

All TP Does Is Win.

Wanted to start with that in case you thought I was full of haterade...

I'm concerned with how frequently passes are late, behind receivers, or floated up there. TP is a great athlete, and there's no one else I'd rather have as QB- I just wish he could make a quick decision and zip the ball into his targets.

It also seems like we've gotten away from the quick slants- Granted, some of this is due to Teddy "I deserve a 10 yard cushion" Ginn being able to make his own space, but I also wonder if it might have something to do with a struggle in throwing the quick pass.

He did amazing in the toss to Fragel, and his leadership (and gutsy running!) won us that game (and others). We're lucky to have him in the Scarlet and Gray.
