Pryor made strides but not
there. Ohio State fans have heard the entire off-season that quarterback
Terrelle Pryor looks like a completely different guy at the helm of the Buckeye offense this year. Let's not go too far.
Pryor is undoubtedly improved and his numbers for the game were impressive (14-for-21 for 174 yards), but before we crown him and say he has arrived, let's speak some truth.
Simply put, his timing isn't perfect yet. We understand that he is just a sophomore and he isn't going to be perfect just yet, but too many times in the game did Pryor hold onto the ball too long before making his throws. His timing is still a little off, and it is evident.
Often he is waiting for receivers to make their breaks in the route before he throws the ball, especially in timing routes such as outs and slants. Sometimes the ball needs to be out of the shoot quick, but it isn't always happening. Some completions he got could have been interceptions if
Taylor Mays was in coverage, but his athletic ability does a great job of masking some of his shortcomings.
