QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I concur completely! 66% completions is incredible! He missed on 3 passes basically.. the two early outs (chalk it up to nerves) and the int.. and if he sees Sanz WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field instead of hitting Saine on the sideline the hype is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

Well, plus one late to Carter on the first drive and the post thrown over carter's head, but yeah TP looked really really good.

I think T-Wash played himself out of the two deep maybe. Especially if Small is 100% for USC. But other than Washington, the receivers looked GREAT. Carter and Posey potentially for three years with Pryor.....WOW.

We threw to the tight end and to the RBs with a couple of swing passes and a few screens. Really helps the offense against blitzing and heavy pass rushing teams like USC.

I kinda felt like maybe the one to carter late was all he could do.. the post was literally a split second from bein a BIG gainer!! OMG i forgot about that one.. if TP waits a split second or maybe (like speilman perhaps mentioned) Carter cuts his route a bit more steep to the inside he is very open!!

Does that really need be answered? Most say its because of inbreeding, I blame it on:

2001 - 26-20
2002 - 14-9
2004 - 37-21
2005 - 25-21
2006 - 42-39
2007 - 14-3
2008 - 42-7

Sounds like Rich has too much sand in his vagina. He may need to get himself checked out.

2. Is Terrelle Ready For The Big-Time?

By Richard Cirminiello

Does Tony Dungy have some time to have a sit down with Terrelle Pryor? The kid appears as if he?s in need of some advice and sound direction.

Listen, I?ve said all along that I have no beef with Michael Vick being back in the NFL. He did his time, he paid a hefty price, and deserves another chance to pursue his chosen. Suggesting otherwise just doesn?t make good common sense. However, in light of the reasons why he spent almost two years behind bars, why, as Pryor did on Saturday, would you script his name in your eye black during a game? It was shockingly asinine and surprising that Jim Tressel didn?t notice it.

On a weekend, when Oklahoma lost Sam Bradford and a game to BYU, and Notre Dame and Michigan took baby steps back to prominence, maybe my focus should be elsewhere, but Pryor?s move irked me for its infinite stupidity. A show of support? Are you kidding me? Raise your hand if you feel more compassion for Vick now that Pryor treated his face like a billboard. Okay, now raise your hand if you think the sophomore needs a six-credit class in public relations. If you want to flash your individuality, please do us all a favor and take it away from the stadium. One of the beauties of the college game is that, in stark contrast to the NFL, the program and the school trump the individual. It?s a team thing at this level.

Pryor?s response to the move was arguably stranger than the show of support itself. After the game, he offered this gem:

"Not everybody is the perfect person in the world. Everyone does ? kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me. I just feel that people need to give him a chance."

Did Terrelle forego a helmet on Sunday? There are bigger issues out there, I know, but this level of oddity should not be swept under the carpet. Please, guys, play the game and save your personal leanings to any day but Saturday. Honest, by being somewhat bland as an amateur, you?ll do yourself a huge favor in the long run.

Not understanding the hostility just for something no one can see unless the camera closes in. It was a pretty harmless gesture.

If a scUM QB had said that this board would be going through the freaking roof with criticism and smart a** comments.

I think Terrelle is a fine young man, but as a neutral observer, that quote coming out of the mouth of any kid who is a highly recognizable face of a major program is going to give people pause, no matter what team they follow. In a word, it is cringe inducing. And you do not have to be a hater to cringe. The eyeblack shout out is no biggie, but the quote was - shall we say - not very well articulated or thought out. And, no, I'm not saying that he is not a bright young man, or that the kids who play for my alma mater could not stick a foot in mouth too....like Chris Rainey, who it's great to be...

Devil's advocate here: How would we have reacted if Tater or "shoelace" came out and said something like that? I have no issue with the eye black with him growing up a Vick fan, but saying that was a little questionable. I'm not going to get into an elongated discussion about the social ramifications, just taking a step back and looking at it without my S & G goggles.

Now, to his performance...

I was impressed, but not wowed. I don't think that's his fault. I think it was a relatively buttoned up performance. He has obviously improved throwing the ball, anybody without an agenda can see that. Was he perfect? No. He still had a couple throws that were a little off target, but that will fix itself over time. He is considerably ahead of where VY was at this point in his career. The arm strength is there. Just needs a couple tweaks.

What do I want to see against USC you ask? No more TP under center in the Power I. That's like taking a Ferrari out for a test drive in a school zone with those damn yellow lights blinking. Put him in the shotgun and lets go. I want rollouts, I want play action, I want him to improvise and I want to see him running. USC is gonna come guns blazing, so the short-intermediate passing game is gonna be crucial. Get the ball to Ballard and Stoney. I liked the screens and those can be huge if USC gets overagressive with their blitzing. I want to see some read option. I think we were getting almost 8 yards a play with that Saturday. If we need one or two yards on 3rd down, let TP utilize his size and athleticism...don't run Boom or Zoom into a pile. There are a lot of possibilities, I hope they use them.

JT is oft-criticized for his playcalling and gameplans the past couple years. People quickly forget how exciting the offense was in the latter half of '05 and '06 (minus the desert debacle) w/Troy under center. JT opens up the playbook when he can trust his QB. Many people don't like that 4th and 1 call (me included), but I think it shows his growing trust w/the offense. TP showed some good decision making Saturday. Hopefully he's gained that trust because we're gonna need some innovative playcalling against USC's D. Some insiders have said the Navy gameplan was mainly handled by the assistants so JT could concentrate on USC. I hope that's true. For all the (sometimes just) criticism, JT is a bright guy. I trust the man implicitly, and I think we're gonna see some good stuff Saturday night.
