QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Gotta go with Bob Hunter...JT just doesn't through praise like that around for anyone, especially a freshman. We already knew TP's amazing but it sounds like he certainly is solidifying that on the field.

True.. and I would go with Hunter's info much more than Bruce Hooley (1460), who was stating that his reports for Pryor out of camp were much less than stellar. But as we all know.. Hooley likes to through darts at tOSU any chance he gets so I tend to shrug off his views.

Niether Florida nor LSU were all that much more athletic than we were, if at all. We got blasted by Florida because we went in flat, and Troy Smith fat, thinking the national title was ours already. Against LSU we started out strong but let mental errors, special teams mistakes, and close plays get us out of our game.
i think i figured out why we lost those games. the other team scored more points...

I, for one, am glad we have a show down between the two biggest thread derailers. SEC / national championship comments vs Pryor. I am almost temptend to go post about Pryor in a SEC forum just so it can get a bump and we can have a head to head thread derailer competition. However, I think the real answer is that Rich Rod is an ass, Charlie Wiess is fat and Ron Zook has offered both of them (to do what is uncertain).

You can tell the rise of BP since the Smith vs Zwick days....

Herbie was on 1460 and discussed the jersey scrimmage. He was very impressed with Pryor. He said he must have had a 60+ completion % and was making all the throws. He didn't get rattled in the pocket.

He also can't believe how quickly he can get 15 yds with his feet...compared him to Vick in that regard.

He thinks he should get 15 to 20 snaps a game.

He was very optimistic on TP and the entire team for that matter. Singled out TP/Boom/TB/Bauserman/Posey/Dane and Lamar Thomas.

There has been some rumblings of OSU running a hurry up offense. There has been rumors of TP and TB in the game at the same time. How cool would it be to run 5 wides with TB at QB and force a dime package. Then hurry back to the line and put TP at QB for a designated run before the dime package can change. I sense a schematic advantage on every play:biggrin:

My prediction is a lot of pocket passing during YSU and Ohio for Pryor based on the jersey scrimmage. The bag of tricks gets expanded against USC.

Boy this is going to be fun.

15-20 with a Sr. QB is unlikely but not out of the question. Like has been stated numerous times, JT does not heap praise on players easily, especially freshman. It's pretty evident that we have a special talent on our hands (a la MoC in '02) and they will find a way to get him on the field. Just sit back and enjoy because it's a golden time to be a Buckeye fan.

That might work on Playstation bro.......in real game time situations.....not so much. You better get back to the lab Mr. Smith, and see what else you can cook up. :wink2:

I watched Pryor most of the open practice today. His passes tend to look ugly(wobly/not a tight spiral) but they seem to be accurate with decent touch. In the scrimmage I would say his performance was good. He wasnt working with the #1team line or receivers and was receiving heavy pressure. He tried to make a run for it a few times but was bottle up well. At least I didnt see a "WOW" play where he used his super secret squirrel speed to outrun the defense but it was only practice I suppose. I believe I only seen a tip of his iceberg and his passing game looked pretty solid.
