QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

"Pryor adds more flexibility at the position, contributing a serious option threat has not been present since current Baltimore Ravens quarterback Troy Smith was at the helm."

Yeah, it's been a LONG DAMN time since Troy Smith was at the helm. An ENTIRE SEASON!!! WOW!!!

Yep, plus Ohio State was blown out comparably by both Florida and LSU, and the things those teams had which OSU did not were athleticism and depth. That article was basically just a collection of all the ill-conceived canards related to OSU football that have been floating around for the past year and a half.

Pryor turning heads

The reports so far on freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor come back the same: He's exciting, he's fast and athletic, and he's not sure yet exactly what he's doing.
Guard Steve Rehring compared Pryor with former Buckeyes quarterback Troy Smith -- but not the polished Smith of 2006, when he won the Heisman Trophy. More like the Smith of 2004, when his inexperience reading defenses led him to scramble more often.
"Right now, he's learning the system, and sometimes he tries to make too much stuff happen with his feet," Rehring said. "But sometimes, you're like, 'He shouldn't have done that,' and he takes it 20 yards down the field.
"The other day, he takes it 45 yards down the sideline for a touchdown, outruns a guy who has an angle on him. That was impressive."

Terrelle Pryor Report Number One
By John Porentas

This is hard to imagine, but the Ohio State football team has a legitimate Heisman candidate on the roster in the person of Beanie Wells, but as far as fan interest goes, he is not the number one draw. That honor goes to a player who has not gained a single yard, started a single game, or for that matter, taken a single snap.
As if you didn't already know, we are talking about freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor who is without doubt an absolute lightning rod for fan interest. That, of course, also makes him target numero uno for media interest. There may not be a single member of the media contingent covering OSU football that can do calculus, understand quantum physics, comprehend chaos theory or decipher a complex financial statement, but if there is one thing for certain, they know where their bread is buttered, and Terrelle Pryor is twelve pounds of Grade-A Land O'Lakes piled on half a slice of Schwebel's finest whole wheat as far as those of us covering OSU football this year are concerned.
In keeping with that thought, we are now going to give you our very first Terrelle Pryor update which most likely will not win any prizes whatsoever, but will probably be the most widely-read thing we do this week.

Uhhhh, I don't know what they saw, but what I think I saw was the Buckeye offensive LINE get it's hat handed to it, unable to block Florida's defensive ends, unable to neutralize Dorsey in the middle of the LSU line. I think I saw the Buckeye defense go against their style of play against Florida for whatever reason. IMO In the first game the Buckeyes were out prepared and out coached and we saw the real value of Ted Ginn. In the second they got whipped by an older, bigger, stronger team.

Sad - but true.

And here is how it could well play out.

After we put YSU away and Bauserman has taken a few snaps TP will get his chance. Against YSU he is very likely to bust a couple of nice runs. Maybe even complete a few nice passes. Suddenly, for your average dunderhead, (the folks who can't name another player in the class of 2008 other than Pryor) the idea of reading a defense or going through a progression will become irrelevant. TP is the man and the only reason he isn't starting is because of JT's stupidity. TB is nothing more than an encumbrance, standing in the way of true greatness.

Let TB struggle. Let TB make a mistake. And they will be more than happy to express their well thought out opinions. Thank goodness our home schedule doesn't present any serious challenges till the end of October.

This may well be the season my head finally explodes.
