QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

http://www.newarkadvocate.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/SPORTS04/308080001/1006/SPORTS
Some have feared Pryor would arrive with the same sense of self-entitlement that contributed to former tailback Maurice Clarett's dramatic fall from glory at Ohio State. But Pryor has presented a far different image and got offended when asked Thursday if he would be "one (year) and done" at OSU if the NFL allowed early entrance like the NBA.

What kind of a fn BS question is that?!?!?! BTW the NBA changed some rules about one and done I do believe...:wink2:

"Nah, man, I don't want to hear that," he said. "No comment on that."

He's ready to put down some scarlet and gray roots.

"When I got here, I don't know what everybody thought," Pryor said, "but I'm down to earth. We all should get along. We're all teammates, and we have to stick together. Hopefully, someday I can make some contributions."

I like his retort and the in your face humility he's showing...

some of these idiots asking questions should be on parade duty

Film

Just saw this on Rivals...film of Pryor on defense at Jeanette. Amazing is all I have to say. For a guy to be 6'6 230 pounds and make plays like that is amazing. The first play, TP just leaps over an OL and tackles the QB before he can make a handoff. He makes an unreal INT and takes it to the house for around 100 yards, he lays the wood on one play, shows great closing speed and range. He is extremely raw there and tackles a lot with his hands, but he could honestly be a gamechanger on D if he wasn't as gifted as he is at QB. I've just never seen a player as impressive as Terrelle Pryor in high school and it's no contest imo. Note to all readers: Don't take that as a "Pryor will be the best player ever, yada, yada, yada" post...just the best player in high school I've seen.

Terrelle Pryor

Tressel has agreed with observers who compare the Buckeyes' situation to that of Florida in 2006, when freshman Tim Tebow ran a package of plays to complement steady starter Chris Leak.
And this is where the Buckeyes' vagueness to talk about their plans is genuine. Right now, less than a week into camp, it is too early to tell how quickly Pryor is catching on. How that process goes will determine how extensively he is used.
"Terrelle is still learning," center Jim Cordle said. "Before we can put him on the field, he's got to prove that he's not going to fumble the ball or not going to make an errant pass or something. So we'll see how things work out."

Despite hype, OSU frosh eager to learn
Terrelle Pryor leans on Todd Boeckman for advice

COLUMBUS: Ohio State coach Jim Tressel feigned surprise when some reporters scooted by him during media day Thursday, as they headed toward the student section.
''Where you going?'' Tressel said.
It was a rhetorical question. Humorous, but rhetorical nonetheless. He knew exactly where they were headed ? right to the guy in the No. 2 jersey: Terrelle Pryor, the prized recruit whom the Buckeyes landed last spring after some now-forgotten drama.
If there was any hint that was a problem, it didn't show.
Still, for a young man who spent a lot of time in the glare of the spotlight because of his football and basketball prowess, Pryor seems bewildered by all of the attention. But when he responds that he wonders why he's getting so much attention, it sounds like a genuine sentiment.
In case he needs a refresher course, here's why:

BuckeyePlanet gets a big ol? assist in helping with this. You could piece together about 60 percent of the story by the recruiting services alone, but BuckeyePlanet will fill in the rest. The hard part with following the Pryor story on BuckeyePlanet is that there was about 6-10 people covering his recruitment who knew anything and about 40-50 cliffjumpers or people resorting to really bad attempts at message board humor. But still, BuckeyePlanet and the people who run it are the balls. Give them money. Wade over at BuckeyePlanet (username: wadc45) might be the most important person that covers Buckeye football that you know nothing about.
