QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

He plays in the best conference in the Dayton area... Although Wayne has struggled with Centerville the last few years, that rivalry is always a good game to see.

Oh I know, I live in the Dayton Area (near Centerville). It's not a BAD conference, but it's no GCL either. He could be playing much worse competition. It's just interesting to see that he's playing in a fairly strong league and still head and shoulders above most of the guys out there.

The critcism may be valid (I am no expert), but Terry Bradshaw threw alot (I mean alot) of stupid passes because he had a cannon for an arm, so did John Elway. That is also what made them great. No doubt mechanics can be an issue but sometimes tinkering can lead to doubt an indecision. I guess I am more results oriented: does he get the ball where it needs to be on time? In the meantime, if his mechanics can be improved without inhibiting his talent than fine, all for it.

I am as well...there are the Phillip Rivers who just have oddball releases that can't be tinkered with because the results are there. However, Braxton isn't one of those guys. As Buckcty4 said, it's mostly just inconsitency in his mechanics. However, there won't be a HS sophmore in the country who you couldn't say that about. All I'm trying to say is he will have some work to do and no doubt he will be a top 10 player in the country if healthy.

As for competition...the GWOC produces some real talent. Saine, Coleman, Hawk, Nugent, Evege, Freeman, and Barnett for starters. Then you have many other D1 prospects every year like Clay Belton, Ogletree-Wilburn, Roy Roundtree, etc. I don't think it's tougher than the GCL, as it's a cut above them all, but I think it is likely the second best in terms of producing D1 talent.

Don't forget Mangold!

Edit: Dur, Alter boys play in the GCL. Still, he's a Centerville product.

As a Trotwood man, I'm going to have to throw in Michael Shaw, Brandon Moore, and Chris Freeman. Hope we can get more of these GCL kids in the pros. Only seen Braxton in one game last year, but look forward to seeing this future D1 kid next year. Not one for getting into the videos if I can see the game action.

So is the best comparison of his playing style up to this point, Juice Williams? If so, that ain't bad at all especially when he's going to be a junior.

He reminds me a lot more of a Tyrod Taylor than Juice Williams. He is shiftier than Juice in the open field, and slightly faster it appears.

so did favre and many others.

though when people say the word elway i stop listening. i saw him play in person and sat next to a 70some year old man who had been to hundreds of games and forgot more about football than i could ever know, he sat their watched elway warm up and said "jesus christ..." over and over again. after the first few drives he was flat out sold he was the best player hed ever seen. this old timer was born and raised in columbus and missed games few and far between from the time he was a young chap to the time he died....

His running surprised me. Didn't know he was that quick. Reminds me some of Russell Sheppard but Braxton's well ahead of Russell as a passer.

Shepard is exactly who his running style reminds me of too - Braxton and Russell have that lean and burst through a hole that is identical...

The GCL is as brutal as it gets... But as for the Dayton area (not really including the GCL as a Dayton conference since a majority of the teams are in Cincinnati) the GWOC is where it's at.
