QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

May be by a hair (right around 1%), but worth noting that Braxton's passer rating is currently higher than Barkley's. Mind you, they played Stanford...but I don't think many would've seen that coming.

Best part is, he's only going to get better w/his reads, more comfortable with this offense and more synced with his receiving corps.

This might be a bit premature or even border on buckeye heresy but is Brax a better QB then buckeye great Troy Smith? I mean could argue that though he is younger he has more physical skill then no. 10 and he has shown up in big spots. Knowing though that he is 0-1 as a starter against that team up north when Smith was 3-0. I think his ceiling is much higher and he can become, at the end of his tOSU career the best Buckeye signal caller ever. Just want to throw that question out there... If you think I'm totally crazy I understand.

Considering how raw he was coming out of high school, the fact that he was stuck in a "covered wagon" offense as a frosh, and that he's still learning a radically different system this year...that he's even in the Heisman discussion is pretty damned impressive. Imagine him next year at this time. :yow1:

Gonna be fun to watch.

Not saying he doesn't have a higher ceiling or won't get to that level, but for the sake of arguing, here's Troy - straight money all year at QB starting in the Spring Game all the way through M*ch*g*n:

Braxton may or may not be a better QB but he will put up way better stats at this point. Troy had about 2900 total yards and 31 touchdowns

Braxton is on pace for 4000+ yards and 48 touchdowns.

That pace will likely slow some, as they almost always do, but I could see him finishing in that area next year.

No I definitely agree with you... Being this young and this good with unproven just as young receivers he looks great. I am a huge Troy Smith guy I just look at Brax and think he's in the perfect system to profile his abilities. Coach Tressel used Smith in unique ways as well but not to this extent. Once we have a dominate every down back look out there won't be any stopping us.

Troy Smith was an incredible gamer his Heisman year. Braxton has shown some of that, but he has to beat michigan, plain and simple.

It would also help if Brax had Teddy touchdown, Tony G and Santonio to throw to as well.

God I miss watching Ted play. :(

Smith to Robiskie is the single greatest play I've ever seen. Troy backpedaled about 10 yards, dodged 3 defenders and threw it on a dime to an in strike Robiskie who was triple covered in the endzone.

Braxton's throw was fantastic for the moment, but D. Smith was WIDE open and to be honest the throw itself wasn't that great.

I'm hoping Braxton gets there, but Troy is Mt. Everest and Braxton has only just summitted Mt. Washington right now, in terms of passing.
