Troy Smith: I'm taking it in stride and accepting it for what it's worth. I knew it was going to come. I'm just proud and happy to be in this situation. Not a lot of people get to go through this and answer some of the crazy questions that I do get asked.

Anyone think the Bears dished Thomas Jones to move up in the 2nd hoping to snag Troy? To get rid of Jones for so little in return shows that they really want something to me. I think anyone with half a brain knows his stock will be right back up after pro day. Also, they obviously don't have the heighth obsession at QB like some teams do.

Thoughts?

I think it had more to do with Jones wanting away and Benson coming of age. It was a good time to offload him and get a "profit" out of the situation.
Still, Chicago is one of the places I'd love to see Troy. But I'm probably beating a dead horse with that one.
FYI, NFLN has him out of the top-7 QBs now. In addition to that Stanford guy and Kolb, they moved Korrodi and Beck (who I actually like) above him too. It'll be very interesting to see where he does go.
Also, I thought it was hilarious they were using Hasselbeck as an example of an NFL QB that makes good reads and comparing Jamarcus and Quinn in the sugar bowl. They failed to mention, of course, that Hasselbeck was drafted well into day 2.

I'm not sure about that one. If you go off of the general speculation, many believe that any 2nd round draft pick would be good enough to draft Troy, and that he may even go to the 3rd.

I don't think the Bears would make that move specifically for Troy, but hey, it would be great if they did.





With that said, I think he will be drafted by atleast the 2nd round. For some reason, I see some team ignoring the bad hype and snagging him before someone else does, knowing he is a great player.
