 Look, if he dosen't work hard he won't be ready when his oppurtunity does arrive.. Troy will be working hard regaurdless of where he is.

This.

You would think so, but his past betrays him.

Right. Like the one instance when he really thought he was "big shit" and let himself eat a few too many In 'n Out Burgers.

Seriously, the best opportunity to get out of a poor situation is to make yourself desireable to others; not to pull a pity party. I'm sure that he has enough intestinal fortitude and advisors around him to keep him in check.

One Instance? :yow2:

Listen, I know people have this halcyon view of Troy Smith because of his success at Ohio State. But success does not make a player an unselfish, hard worker or a great teammate. If any other coach were at Ohio State, Smith would have been kicked out before his sophomore season.

He was great at portraying himself in the media a certain way, but he worked very hard to divide the locker room in his favor early on in his career. He showed up Coach Tress in front of the team on more than one instance. Luckily for him, Jim Tressel is a very forgiving man and didn't kick his ass to the curb.

With his selfishness, he directly cost OSU one national championship and a likely shot at another.

His time at the strip club an hour after getting his [censored] pushed in by the Gators haven't endeared him to his former teammates either.

I hope he gets traded and gets a shot somewhere; I think he has the talent to do well. But if things don't go his way, anyone who thinks he will put his head down and be a good soldier just doesn't know very much about him.

But TS wants out, so how hard is he going to work? Unhappy employees don't win games.

That's fucking retarded.

At that point he'll be getting his shot. Beyond that, Troy has better character than that. Get the Fuck out of here with that bullshit.

He doesn't have shit.

And my guess is that he'll likely not be able to respond when Mili sees his pollution within this thread....

Funny how such a bad teammate would be so loved in the Ravens locker room that the players went to the media saying Troy should be the starter.

Exactly.

Whatever qualms and suspicions I have about Ray Lewis the man, as a teammate if that guy is saying he should be the starter, that is something.

His leadership and play got us the to 2006 NCG in the first place. I agree that he probably got caught up in the post-Heisman whirlwind, but if watched the game, it was more the OTs whiffing on blocks that had Troy running all over the fucking place.

As for "a likely shot at another", just what do you mean?

I would assume he meant the suspension for the Alamo Bowl that carried over to him coming off the bench in the loss against Texas the next season.

I'd really like for you to give a little bit of clarification to your usage of the word, halcyon; because the intent of your post doesn't reflect the meaning of this word.

Horseshit. To be a Heisman trophy winner, it takes a TREMENDOUS amount of hard work. I've yet to see anyone receive a Heisman trophy that didn't perform, at least, above the mean.

As others have asked, what is your source for such a resounding statement?

Right. Because the old adage, "a house divided against itself will conquer".

Of course.

Had nothing to do with losing TGII, the pressuring of the defensive ends that blew by the tackles, and other non-QB related items. Was TS lazy? Yes. Was he the sole reason for the loss? No way.

I would love to see the time print on your picture for this one.

And what precisely fuck-all do you know about Troy? As far as objective considerations can present, we have a young man who was a fifth round draft choice, who has accepted the adversity of being the second QB, and taken advantage of the opportunities that have arisen. He has the respect of his teammates on the Ravens. He has the respect of the coaches of the Ravens.

You're projecting upon this young man the things that you believe occurred while he was in college. If there's even a hint of non-exemplary living on his part during that time; then who gives a shit? Who was an angel and perfectionist during their time at college? As far as I can tell, there isn't shit that you can say in a derogatory fashion with regards to Troy since he's been out of college. Thus, you got jack.

Browns making room for Smith? He?d crawl here
Mar 5th, 2010
by Todd Porter

I?ve been trying to track down Ralph Cindrich for a month now and finally connected with him Friday afternoon. Here is a little glimpse into the Sunday Special after speaking with Troy Smith?s agent.

Without a doubt Troy Smith wants to play for the Cleveland Browns. Right now, however, he?s a backup quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens and as long as Joe Flacco is there will remain so.
This isn?t a question of if Smith wants to play for the Browns. It is, however, a matter of whether or not the new regime in Cleveland wants Smith on its team. And if so, what price.
?He would crawl from Baltimore right now to be able to play in Cleveland,? Smith?s agent Ralph Cindrich said in a phone interview. ?That?s clearly where his heart is. That?s where his love is. He has a great relationship in Baltimore and with the fans as long as I don?t muck it up too much. He has a great relationship with (Baltimore General Manager) Ozzie Newsome.
?It?s just that this is where home is. In the offseason, he tells me, ?get me home.??
Baltimore made Smith, a restricted free agent, the lowest offer possible. The Ravens tendered Smith a fifth-round draft pick. Any team could sign him (the Raven could match it) and Baltimore would get a fifth-round pick from that team.
