QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Well, after all we hear about Donte's future in question up in Buffalo - maybe that's just another former Buckeye standout we could have in the 'land

I almost hope whitner goes to cleveland, he has like a 15% approval rating in Buffalo and Id like to see him get a clean slate. The Bills D Line sucks and has left him out to dry since he got to Buffalo.

Has he been that bad? I thought he was doing pretty well in Buffalo, seemed like these rumors came out of nowhere. I never get to see him so I have no idea.

Go the a Bills message board, the whitner bashing is one the most irrational things I have ever seen and its sickening. Especially since we have had great success w/ tOSU dbs (clements and winfield). But who knows maybe its a message board thing because I still see a lot of Whitner jerseys on gamedays.

Whitner is one of the few bright spots on the Bills D, but as a very-high draft pick (with a tendency to be quite outspoken) he tends to be a focal point of the fans' frustration with this team.

And people wonder why the Browns are one of the worst pro franchises. It's decisions like these (Wallace over Smith).

Have you seen Wallace play?..As a Browns fan and OSU fan I'd take Wallace in a heartbeat...he's not the answer long term..but Anderson should have been gone and Quinn hasn't shown anything..As much as I liked what Troy did in college...IMO..he's never going to be a starter and should be happy to stick around and make a living on the bench as long as possible..

There isn't much proof out there one way or the other here.. Wallace knows what Holmgren wants to do, and Holmgren drafted him. It makes sense for the Browns to pick up Wallace. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt until he gives me a reason not to.

I would've rather them picked up Smith, but I kind of understand why they did what they did..

Looks like wisenhunt wants to bring in a vet to compete with Leinart. What does everyone think of Troy becoming Beanie's teammate again? We know In and Out Burger could be a big draw for him hahaha

The quick word I heard on the radio tonight was that the Cardinals were interested in DA. Take it FWIW.

I'd heard some chatter about that too. Can't remember where, but I'm pretty sure it was somewhere at least somewhat respectable because I didn't dismiss it.

There is always the transactions that can come during and post-draft too for a QB needy team to try for Troy. That being said, I would rather see him be the #2 in Baltimore again then see him go to a black-hole team that will use and abuse him. I believe that after next season Troy will be an UFA, am I correct? Plus he may get a chance to play this season if Flacco goes down at all. His time will come and he is still young enough to make a bid to start somewhere.

Yes, I've seen Wallace play several times...and I wasn't impressed. You know what you're going to get with him, which is not much. He's at best a very good backup. You put him in as a starter, and the team will go 5-11 or 6-10.

As much as I liked what Troy did in college...IMO..he's never going to be a starter and should be happy to stick around and make a living on the bench as long as possible..

What makes you say that? He's gotten virtually no chance in the NFL, yet when he's been in games, he's shown flashes. He's shown in limited time that he has more upside than Wallace.
