QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Our corners our fine. Underwood and Ubouty played a good game. When you don't get a rush with your front four thats the problem.

WOAHHHHH. I'll give you Youbouty played a good game, but Underwood?!?!

He had a terrible game. Missed tackles, poor reads, blown coverages, biting on every play action fake. He has so much talent, but he is a big reason why Purdue scored 14 of their points on us.

You're definatly right Dihard..... Both have good atributes as well as bad.

Now Holmes dropped Zwicks pass in Northwestern so It has happened to both of the QB's, but I've noticed more drops with Smith. Just strictly due to smith throwing alittle too hard, and you know he could better the recievers chances by taking a bit off also the recievers have to come down with some of those as well.

The play that really stuck out to me was the Hamby drop on 1st down in the 1st half he wouldv'e had a much needed first down if he caught that ball.

i think we are just saying there is really no difference between the two.....they both have good and bad...
I concur... I think it's becoming more and more obvious that brain power (Krenzel) may be much more important than physical skills...

finally we agree buckipower....

as i have said forever....it is the coaching and gameplan that hurt both qb's......

i honestly believe both zwick and smith could be great if they had some trust from the coach.....

I'm going to guess 60-65???? He didn't peform to what Tressel molds his Qb's to play like so it will hurt him that he had 4 turnovers.

Dihard, yeah finally hu???? bout damn time! Next year with an Offensive Coordinator the offense will be much better. Most likely they'll pass the ball more so it should favor Zwick/Boeckman over Smith any day. For sure I do like that set they have now with Ginn in the Backfield/slot.... Good Change I thought.
Also I actually do have the film, I tape every game.... I wouldn't know how to grade him properly though so I'd be kinda lost?

Since JT appears to construct his gameplan out of fear - preventing offensive mistakes first rather than making plays - JT's grip only tightens when things go bad.

It appears to me - at least by measuring the number of pass attempts, and the number of attempts downfield - that JT trusts JZ more than TS.

I am not sure if people are being sarcastic or not but I thought Smith looked horrible all day. He missed open recievers all day, he throws the screens way too late, does not give people the opportunity to make a play. Runs into the pressure. Takes sacks when he could have got rid of the ball. All in all this was bad bad bad day for Smith. Smith was IMO only responsible for 2 turnovers but they both came in the red zone. The one pass he threw to Lyons should have been caught but it was thrown like a missle. The one pass to Holmes that went for a td was over-thrown like mad but Holmes made a great play....

For real, I am not saying right or wrong, but I think Zwick gives us a better change to beat Michigan, but do not feel like getting into the Smith/Zwick juk anymore....

Hard loss today

Underwood dropped an easy INT for a TD. He got burned for a TD, and bit badly on a fake that left the receiver open for an easy TD.

you need the proper amount of both. being smart but having no skill is no more or less useful than having a great deal of skill and being an idiot.

id buy the "the receiver should catch everything they touch" if there was 1 or 2 receivers having problems. but when the sure handed holmes is dropping balls like crazy in addition to ginn who actually played with the guy in highschool. every single receiver on the team is unable to catch his passes. we are talking about every wr, tight end, and rb. suddenly i stop pinning all the blame on the wide outs. having great arm strength is one thing. being able to control it is another. did anyone see how far that ball bounced off lyons head??? thats after hitting both his hands then his head!

zwick has the same problem only in reverse. not being able to throw a spiral at this level is unacceptable!

both qb's could be "the man". but neither have the development at this point to do so. personally i think zwick has the better shot. qb's like smith have a very hard time getting past the "i wanna run it" kick that plagues him currently. once he see's the first receiver is covered he tucks it and runs. we all saw ginn running wide open down the field being covered by the lb. the bright side of zwick is he would likely have seen that because he is less likely to tuck it and run. on the flip side, he won't run for nearly as many first downs. both have the ability to be very good. i simply see zwick getting there faster/easier because he is more 1 dimensional. oh and you don't have to be an "athlete" as lebron james seems to think to play qb. i guarantee you no nfl team would bench joe montana or dan marino in their prime for any starter in the nfl currently.

yeah we shouldv'e won, but you know Troy didn't play a good game today? He's also a first year starter like many have said about Zwick so he'll learn from it..... I don't think either one is truthfully the answer we need....... we need someone that can just be very accurate, and I don't think either has truely shown that. I do think that Smith is better at getting the ball to the recievers tho..... His completion percentage shows just that...... He's right at 60%.
