QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I think some of those fans on the Ravens board have it right: Baltimore doesn't need to start Smith over Boller, what they need to do is start Rick Neuheisel over Brian Billick, and see how that works out for two games.

It'd be a great story to see Troy get some quality PT and rise up, carry this team, and end the season a hero after a fairly miserable season for the Ravens. Unfortunately, there's about a 5% of that happening. This team sucks.

Putting Troy in for four quarters just means Troy will get the tar knocked out of him. The optimists on those boards all talk about how elusive Troy is and how good he has been avoiding the rush and buying time. Bullshit. Opposing teams are rushing four and he's still running for his life because the Ravens O-Line is terrible.

If you stood there for 14 weeks and watched McNair and Boller get obliterated play after play, you'd be elusive too. Run Troy, Run!!!

I was in the car yesterday during the game (in Baltimore ironically) and didn't get a chance to see Troy play. Does anyone know where I can find highlights of his play online? I checked NFL.com and they only have a couple plays from him.

I feel the same way. Smith starting at Seattle against a D that creates pressure and turnovers is not a good idea. Troy is tough but I can't see anything good coming from him starting. Give him some series but don't put the whole load on his shoulders.

It's this sort of thought process that has their team sucking as bad as it does...how do fuckers like this keep their jobs? Seriously...
I was about to post the same thing. It's comedy at this point. How does one come to the conclusion that a team that has lost 8 straight games with a deplorable QB is better off with that QB (who has no future) than the young backup that has moved the ball both chances he got? One doesn't. It's his pathetic ego. If I were a Ratbirds fan (heaven forbid), I'd want this ass lynched in downtown baltimore.
