Don't worry about Troy Smith. You'll be wasting your time.
If there ever has been a person who sees life in a glass-is-half-full light, it's the Heisman Trophy-winning Ohio State quarterback. Sure, he'd be happier if the Buckeyes had finished their season with a victory over Florida in the BCS National Championship Game in Arizona, but he refuses to dwell on the lone defeat, choosing instead to measure his season and that of the Buckeyes in terms of 13 games, not one.

"For me, it's probably easy to move on because I didn't hold anything back (in the game)," Smith said. "I gave it my all. I gave my teammates my all. I didn't sell my team short. I wouldn't have played any other way."

They spelled Justin's name wrong.

Trent Edwards threw 6 TDs and 6 picks this year for one of the worst BCS conference teams in the country. Enough said.
I think Kiper is overlooking the pros aversion to players with a history of injuries, especially those with a congenital basis.

We all probably know of Edwards departure in '06 with the broken foot. He also had a history of nagging injuries in the prior series of contests. Then there is this:

Edwards "Compartment Syndrome"

So, what does this mean for Troy? Likely a spot on the QB charts shoulder-to-shoulder with his buddy and fellow Elite 11 QB Stanton.

MOBILE, Ala. ? Practice week for this year's Senior Bowl, which will be played Saturday, got under way Monday.

Quarterbacks Leak and Smith scrutinized at weigh-in

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

It's referred to as "the meat market" by some, but Monday's official weigh-in for Senior Bowl players is almost as important as the practices to many NFL scouts.
The official heights and weights are compared to the "media guide" specs the players have been listed at all season long. Sometimes, there are significant differences.
Two players the scouts and others were anxious to check were the quarterbacks in this year's BCS National Championship Game -- Florida's Chris Leak for the South team and Ohio State's Troy Smith for the North. Leak was measured at 5-foot-11? and weighed 203 pounds. Smith, whose height was of interest, measured at an even 6 feet and weighed 222 pounds.

NFLDraftCountdown.com's North Practice Report for 1/22

At quarterback this is definitely one of the more talented groups we've seen in a while yet nobody really managed to stand out on the first day. Troy Smith probably looked the best, showcasing a strong arm and good accuracy.

NFLDraftCountdown.com is reporting that Troy measured in at 6'0" during Senior Bowl weigh-ins.

Give me some props, peeps! I called that long ago.

From Jon Gruden's comments and his history with drafting players from this game, I would not be surprised at all to see him draft Troy.

NIU UNKNOWN “ROY SMITH” PREPARES FOR SENIOR BOWL

Has Florida chased Troy Smith into the witness protection program? Perhaps. That’s Smith in an NIU helmet, though our Senior Bowl correspondent says otherwise. HT

Gruden laughed, then paused. ?But when you?ve got Chris Simms and Bruce Gradkowski on your depth chart as the main course, I don?t care if this guy calls himself Nancy Cockswax and wears a Vera Wang when he?s on the field. We need help. I mean, Chris Simms, Jesus,? he said, muttering and turning away from the cameras and toward the field.

Quote of the day right there(even if it is a fake one)!

The only thing that I don't like about the Bucs drafting TS is that he may be thrust into the starter's role too early. Sims has proven ineffective even when he's healthy, and Gradkowski has no business being a starting QB in the NFL.
