Yea, it's hard to believe they'd give up on him before he even gets a chance. Far-vra has to give it up sooner or later.

Here is your first mistake, not to poke fun it's a common misconception. You said that Brett is going to have to give up sooner or later and that would be true except... "give up" is a human term and therefore does not apply to FAVRE-BOT. The indestructable machine we know as the quarterback for the Packers is actually a government gone horribly wrong. Listen I don't want to get into the details and I'm woried i have already said too much. Just ask yourself "how does he not stop?"

I agree. Unlike Marino and Elway, BF doesn't know that he should quit while on top. His judgment has been terrible past couple of years. I certainly would not want my young QB's to learn from him today. I think it's an ego thing. He is harming his team by staying, and no one would make a decision to tell him goodbye. It's sad.

If I could, I would refer you back to my post, and the article I threw in at the end. It's just a little farther up on this page. (#188 to be precise)
Cleveland apparantly had a couple of good D-Linemen (and even a good positions coach), as they're all doing pretty good for the Broncos now. Yet they sucked for the Browns. When asked why they don't suck anymore, they basically responded that it's a small matter of a winning attitude, expectations, etc. The article clearly suggests this, but it's been a long-time favorite on Broncos talk shows and the answer hasn't changed yet.

The Browns definitely need help on their lines. Bentley's recovery could be a big step in that direction, but I don't think simply drafting a lot of OL and DL talent is going to change anything. If they were to draft OL in the 1st and get Troy in the 2nd, I think he could change the attitude in Cleveland. Just a thought.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought the Browns OL protected Derek much better than they have Charley. I didn't see him scrambling for life every other play. I do not think they like playing for Charlie. The sideline words between Frye and Edwards 3 weeks ago suggest so. Troy's desire to become a Brownie is similar to Bernie Kosar's. I think he will end up there. And yes he can change the team so long as he is permitted to do so.

I don't know why people are even thinking they could get Troy in the 2nd round. Unless he measures at 5'10" he's going in the 1st.

I can have my pipe dreams.
Honestly, I'm hoping some QBs with ideal measurables leave early (Jamarcus Russel is a prime candidate) and "push" Troy down to the 2nd. I seriously doubt it'll happen -- but I can have my pipe dream.

Can't fault ya' for that! I'm hoping my Seahawks pick him up. Shit, if Senecca Wallace can be a decent pro then the sky's the limit for Troy.

Seattle would be awesome too -- my future residence if I have anything to say about it.
Not sure what's up with Hasselbeck though?

Everyone's getting old on the offense. The o-line's old, Shaun is getting old, the recievers are old. We just suck this year. I still think Matt has a good 3-4 more years in him though which would be nice for Troy so he could sit back and learn.

That does sound like a good possibility then. A decent receiving corp, a good RB -- you are right though, the team looks to be aging quite a bit. (I'm looking at their roster while I type) The defense looks workable too. Throw in Sims and Green... and a potential battle for backup with Seneca... looks as good as anywhere else for Troy to go.

On Mike and Mike , Mel Kiper Jr. just said that if Troy measures under 6 feet tall, he goes late 2nd or early 3rd round in the draft. He said if he measures over six feet, he still would only go early to mid 2nd round.:shake:

I wanna see this guy eat some shit on this one. troy Smith is no Ken Dorsey.

He also said that if LSU's QB comes out, he will go first round and maybe before Quinn.
