QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I hope Troy goes to the Browns. What that team needs is players that identify with the city and want the team to be successful for reasons other than personal success. If the Browns are going to get off the schnide, they need to develop a winning attitude.

What if the Browns were led on offense by three hometown guys like Bentley, Smith and Jurevicious? The latter has already proven his worth to the franchise on the field and off it.

I don't want to hear about the jinx stuff either. That's gotta be in our heads.... right? ... it just has to.

I don't know that I could consider myself a Browns fan. I want the Browns to win every game. I watch every game. But when they lose, it's like, "Yep - that's the Browns." (Compare that to Ohio State, and my entire weekend, possibly my entire week, is totally ruined.)

That said, I hope that Troy Smith does NOT play for the Browns. How many quarterbacks have the Browns had who were supposed to lead the team to the playoffs? The fans embrace these guys for half a season, and then can't wait to show these guys the door out of Cleveland. Or, in the case of Tim Couch, they actually cheered when he was injured. The Browns fans would rally around Troy Smith, but when the Browns are 2-6 halfway through his season, Troy Smith would become the next Tim Couch / Trent Dilfer / Jeff Garcia / anyone else who's ever tried.

The Browns need an offensive line. Don't waste another draft pick on a quarterback that's just going to be run out of town until you can keep him upright.

Exactly. I laugh every time I see someone say they need a WR or QB. The only skill player that I would take in the 1st round over OL would be AP. Even then I still want them to use 2 of the first 3 picks on the OL.

Peter King of SI has him going to the Raiders at #2 after Brady Quinn to Detroit at #1.

I usually don't like Peter King, but that would make for a nice draft.

As for the Browns, they need to look at what the Jets did last year. They had 2 first round picks and took 2 o-linemen. And look at how quickly they've turned the corner. I know Pennington's recovery has helped, but the game is won on the line. If the Browns can fix that, they have a punchers chance.

Ugh... please don't troy to the raiders.

It is not so much the team, it is the respect he receives if he is the #2 overall pick.

I would be happy with just about any NFC team. I'd like someone in the NFC to casually root for, so the Raiders would be fine. He'd make Moss happy again and in turn, Moss could make Troy look even better.

Does anyone have a link for the Peter King list? Does that list include underclassmen or just Sr's?
