It's OK to criticize Herbie (I've done it in this thread), but it has to be done in a reasonable manner, and should include an explanation for the negative comments.
It might be easier for people to understand what I'm trying to say if I use examples.
OK:
"I think it's bullshit that Herbie dropped tOSU to #9 after they won the Sugar Bowl, what the hell can he be thinking?"
"He seems to only worry about his ESPN gig and he trashes tOSU way too much, I have no problem with TP calling him a 'fake Buckeye', he's completely sold out."
"The way he named guys that weren't invovled in the tat-5 thing on the air, and never apologed for, is pure horseshit. I won't forgive him for that until he makes a public apology."
"The way he hypes the SEC makes me sick, I can't stand to watch him any more."
NOT OK:
"He's a douchebag." "I hope he gets eaten by a shark." "Herbie sucks." "F*ck you Herbie." (I've deleted all of those this week)
"I hope he gags on Pete Carroll's dick."
"He should get gang-raped by Mark May, Jesse Palmer and Desmond Howard." (Now that I've used those, they don't need to be posted).
So, avoiding name-calling and avoiding wishing evil upon him will help keep folks on the OK side. You can be critical, but it's best to not express hatred.

His behavior is beyond childish and I have simply lost respect for his views.

I have trouble envisioning Herbie as the "parent" and tOSU as the "kid" in this situation. I see it more as a spoiled child not getting his way all the time and whining or throwing a tantrum to get the parents attention or to "get back" at the parents. Some have mentioned his lack of access to the WHAC. Think there might be a connection?FCollinsBuckeye;1857072; said:Herbie is beginning to remind me of one of those parents who is really hard on their kids - you know the type, blows all of the smallest faults out of proportion, strict disciplinarian, holds their kids to a rediculously high standard - all out of love. Maybe also out of a sense that if *they* themselves were held to such a high standard when they were a child, they would've turned out better/been more successful.
Sadly however, kids of that type of parent often end up resenting the parent....
