QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips)

Yeah, a psychotic, troubled, convicted armed robber is a better representative of the university than a nationally-respected sports analyst. :roll1:

It's OK to be a little bitter because he may go out of his way to not appear biased, but don't be stupid about it...

Haha I suppose I forgot to use the sarcasm font about MoC though the part of him being a much better football player than Kirk could ever dream of is true. I used to be a big fan of Kirk's and him being impartial I used to think was very professional. But for the last few years its just seems he slams tOSU on gameday at every chance, even we somebody is trying to give them a complement.

Kirk Herbstreit's amazing race for ESPN-ABC

12:10 PM, October 10, 2008

Say a prayer, keep your fingers crossed, light a candle and hope for the best.
For the U.S. economy?
Oh sure, that too, but we were thinking more about ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit, who faces quite a beat-the-clock challenge Saturday as he prepares to broadcast the big showdown at the Cotton Bowl between No.1 Oklahoma and No. 5 Texas.
Herbstreit will be wearing a couple of 10-gallon hats in Dallas.
The Houston Chronicle, well, chronicled what could be the toughest six minutes in the former Ohio State quarterback's up-to-now fantastic, fun-filled and highly compensated life as the toothpaste commercial (OK, he's smart too) portion of ESPN's "College GameDay" football crew.
Herbstreit will be multitasking for parent Walt Disney Company.
First, he and partners Chris Fowler (Mr. Inside) and Lee Corso (Mr. Downside) will host their wildly popular ESPN pregame show from outside the Cotton Bowl.

There is a sign on the door of a Circle K here in Newark that says Herbie will be here, either today or tomorrow (can't remember), to give away free TSUN tickets to the "Craziest Buckeye Fan". There are nine parking spaces in the lot. Epic clusterfuck.

Show him your beard. I'm sure you'll win.

Is it me or does Herbie sound like he has an honorary degree from Florida or something. I usually don't like to get into the Herbstreit bashing, but this dude has been doing everything he can to get Florida a Super Bowl trophy. When scUM is brought up to Desmond, you see the affinity for his school. Same for old man Corso and Jesse Palmer at ESPN. Herbie seems like he is tired of hearing how bad the Big Ten sucks, he's gonna ride the n*ts of Florida to show he loves the SEC and there teams.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it.

Either that, or he simply presents his true unvarnished opinion and doesn't think it's in his job description to suck up to the Buckeye faithful on air.

Herbstreit made an unscheduled call into the Mike and Mike show this morning. In addition to saying he thought the two best teams in the country were USC and Florida, he said he doesn't believe we will ever get a playoff in College Football.

Oh, and he's a germ guy like the skinny Mike, lives on Purell. I'm wondering how he felt in the middle of a football game with sweaty dudes all up in his junk.

Anyone catch Herbie's comments about ND today?:rofl:

They were talking about Fat Weis getting fired because he is not living up to what ND and it's fans expects. Herbie went on to say that he didn't understand why ND is so upset. For the last 7 years they have averaged 7 wins a season. That's what they are shooting for this year as well. Add in the fact that they haven't won a bowl game in 15 years. And that BQ was the first offensive player drafted in the first round in 14 years as well. Herbie hit the nail on the head with that one I think.
