You know one of the things that pisses me off most about Herbstreit that no one talks about is how he moved to Nashville. I really could care less if he wants to live somewhere else. We have Buckeyes all around the world, even from this board. IT'S OK IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN COLUMBUS OR EVEN OHIO.

But he had to whine and cry his way out of town, blaming the fanbase for intimidating him and his family - a claim I seriously doubt was based on anything more than a few profanity-laced emails from internet thugs, but whatever. If you feel the need to move, even for that ridiculous of a reason, then just go... quietly. Why did you have to take a shit on the fanbase and piss in our cheerios on the way out? All you did was add more fuel to the fire of the media and the rest of the country that hates on us.

Thanks Kirk. Thanks for always never looking out for Ohio State.

So, I just re-watched the '10 Rose Bowl, and I was amazed at how Herbie was completely anti-OSU/Pryor.

Every time the Bucks would make a mistake, he would gleefully explain what they had done wrong. On the other side, he fellated Masoli like there was no tomorrow.

It was truly astounding, he would rip on Pryor the entire drive, regardless of the outcome. "Pryor is so uncomfortable right now." "Pryor can't step up into the pocket." "Pryor won't keep getting away with those passes." "Chip Kelly has something up his sleeve for Pryor here, I'm sure."

Fuck that guy.


EDIT: I'm not even a "Pryor guy" or anything. I just can't stand Herbies incessant badgering of the University and its fans.

Can we pretend he never happened?

EDIT2: Maybe if we had McGroin Herbie would be a fan.

I remember him saying "alliotti....blah blah blah" a million times. When in doubt....name drop a coach. You would think Oregon was known for their defense as many times as he said "alliotti....blah blah blah blah"

How will you remember the Jim Tressel era at Ohio State?

I think it's unfortunate the way it ended. I think that eventually he will have to come out and address these issues. I think a lot of it snowballed. I think the facts and what's fiction to me seem to be blurred. I don't even know myself what's true and what's not true of all these allegations. For people who know Jim Tressel and speaking for myself, how I view him has not changed and won't change. I still think he's a good man. I still think he was an outstanding coach. I still think he's a guy if my kids ever had a chance to play for, I would be honored. I think he got beat up and I think a lot of it was unfair.

As much as I loathe Kirk and the people he works for, he's been pretty mum regarding this whole situation. Shockingly, he's not been throwing stones at Tressel & the program like every other piece of shit at Disney.

That's what I was thinking.

I was thinking that Herbstreit's GD network was easily the "leaders in the clubhouse" in mud-slinging and false stories in relation to the OSU situation.

The one thing Herbstreit contributed to the mess was implicating innocent players during a game based on ABC 6 (who based their report on Sports by Brooks). Michael Brewster, Jordan Hall and Chris Fields never got a correction, retraction and/or apology from Herbie.
