QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips)

Yes, this thread definitely shows how united we all are, engaging in corrupt groupthink on the subject. Clearly his latest hyperbole was wonderfully fair, accurate and not driven by anything.

I happen to agree with Jake.

Anyone would be defensive if a guy they went "all in" on turned out to be not what they expected. Hence why all of us are so upset.

Do I agree that Kirk has not taken the high road on some this, "yes", is he mostly correct in this interview, I believe so.

You cannot tell me that Terrelle Pryor has not had problems following him since his delayed signingto OSU?

If Tressel survives all of this, I'd be shocked.

Yeah - the last question designed for Herbie was garbage.

Lumping in Clarett with Pryor, yet not mentioning any of the other 4 that received tat's as well.

That's a personal shot that was far from necessary. Sorry, I just think its out of line. A former player? Maybe. Current? That's pretty out of line.

Maybe if he had any credibility, I might cut him some slack with this "well some of what he says is true" excuse.

But with a long history of emotional and antagonistic exaggerations, he doesn't get that benefit of the doubt.

If buckeye fans only care about beating Michigan, why have many of them disliked Pryor lver the years, long before this stuff surfaced? Or simpler yet, if Herbie's latest lazy characterization were true, how come that blind homerism doesn't apply to him?

It is a stupid, intentionally abrasive comment that Disney knows will generate major ratings. That is why blunt, harsh but fair Spielman is a small time ESPN analyst, and May, Herbie and Cowherd are premiere personalities.

There is a huge variety of responses. Homerism, sadness, forgiveness, anger, betrayal, lust for justice, etc. Many feel a lot of these at the same time, and there are a variety of feelings on what to do about it, many of which think JT should move on.

To insult the fanbase as mindless dolts who accept his cheating as long as he wins is easily his second worst insult towards OSU, the first being the kids he slandered with zero apology.

If he were giving these opinions locally, I wouldn't have an issue. But he has a national pulpit to preach from and limits his venom to tOSU. If he had a similar reacton to the USC garbage, to the SEC stuff (including Newton-gate), I wouldn't have an issue. But he didn't...in fact, he continued to fellate Pete Carroll when everything was crumbling down around him. He continued to suck Cam Newtons dick when all the controversy was erupting around him. It's his continued, focused, axe-grinding over every-little-thing that omes out of C-bus, while ignoring everything else, that is the issue. Then he has the balls to complain when people call him on his bull[Mark May].

Have an opinion, that's fine. But when there's very clear hypocrisy with how he "reports" on tOSU and USC...that's an issue. Not to mention his little childish vendetta against Terrelle Pryor.

They interviewed Kirky on sportcenter. When asked what would you tell Jim Tressel to do....

Kirky says: "Quit recruiting guys like Maurice Clarret and Terrelle Pryor".

Yeah...because you know in advance when a kid is going to [censored] up. So his feud with TP continues. TP should now post on twitter, we should recruit QBs like Kirk so we can lose 4+ games a year.

and which top 10 team didn`t recruit or wouldnt have taken each of these two players.....lol. Great answer.....Go Bucks

So the thing that Tressel needs to do is stop recruiting the Terrelle Pryors of the world? Because that's what Tressel did wrong in all of this......recruited a kid who has been kind of a pain in the ass. It wasn't that JT lied to the NCAA and tried to cover up the infractions.....it was the recruiting of the player where he went wrong.

And why is it that Ohio State needs to stop recruiting the super star players who more often than not turn out to be headaches....but the SEC, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida States can keep going for them?

Hypocrisy with some bitterness towards Ohio State.....no shock there.

It will never happen and who knows what the future holds for the program, but sometimes I wish the Ohio State players and/or Jim Tressel would pull a "Chad Curtis-Jim Gray-Pete Rose" on Herbstreit or the Worldwide Leader.

But it will never happen.

It would be funny though.

At the least, Mike Brewster, Chris Fields and Jordan Hall have the right to after having their names brought into this by "Sleepy" (Smokey the House-Burning Bear).

Someday, somehow, somewhere, someone who wishes Herbstriet ill is going to get their hands on the bronzer before a show and it's going to be epic.

I can't recall Herpstreet having much contact with the program at all over the past several years...on air or off. So, those chances are pretty slim. Would be nice, though.
