QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips)

Any comments that Herbstreit has on the entire situation should be prefaced by his public apology of recklessly naming players on national television last December, apparently based solely on a website that had also decided to name a few tOSU players that happened to have some tattoos. Not all of the players that Herbstreit named were involved with Rife or got tattoos from him.

The fact that he's never (to my knowledge) publicly apologized for incorrectly naming innocent Buckeyes on national TV shows a real lack of character on his part.

I thought his "Jackass" comment to someone was sort of unprofessional, but who knows.

If his goal is to paint the Ohio State fanbase in a certain light, he may be succeeding. It's not like Ohio State will reply or anything.

No other ESPN personality seems to have a problem with any specific collegiate fanbase (naming them by names). He seems to be running from his problems (kind of like how he played QB).

And if former/current NFL players are calling him out, it's not just the fanbase.

Herbstreit haters might want to listen to his interview comments in the Colin Cowherd show today. He really has perspective on the Ohio State situation and on Coach Tressel's approach to his players that got him into the hot water that forced him out.

Great commentary IMO.
