QB Justin Zwick (B1G Champion, National Champion)

In a perfect Buckeye world, we will have to ball with a comfortable lead with about a minute or so left in the game, Troy Smith will take the field with the offense and then call a timeout and signal for Justin to come in, at which point they will meet halfway between the huddle and sideline, hug, and then Justin will proceed to take the snaps for the Victory Formation (along with as many non-starting seniors as possible being on offense).

I've gotta take issue with your first five words there Mili. In a perfect Buckeye world where we only include likely outcomes?? Sure. But I think the following is what would happen in a perfect Buckeye world where we allow any outcome, no matter how unlikely.

Some time in the middle of the 4th quarter (in a bigger blow-out, Troy would have stopped throwing the ball too soon for my taste) Tressel will begin a drive with as many seniors as he could get on the field. Then after one play he would call a time-out, and pull the seniors off of the field one-by-one like he did for the defense in the Northwestern game in 2005. Of course Troy will come off last.

Then he will do the same for the defense.

On our next possession, or maybe even the one after that; he will call a time-out and pull the remaining seniors. Justin Zwick will then get the last 'curtain call' of the 2006 (and 1 in '07) season. And Troy will give him that hug as he comes off the field.

Hey - I can dream can't I.

Last night I was thinking how awesome it would be if Ohio State had a 21 point lead with 5 minutes left and JZ got to play the remainder of the game and throws a touchdown... but either of your scenarios will work for me. :)

There are lots of ways to be a champion. Justin Zwick has suffered a level of disappointment with a dignity that I do not think I could muster. I hope we do have enough of a lead that he can take over the offense in the fourth quarter and lead the Buckeyes to a score. If this is to be the ideal game, then that would be a part of it. That, and the scenarios that DBB and Mili described.

Let us not forget one thing. These kids dealt with every bit of that crap. They have risen above it. They deserve this national championship and they all deserve to play. It's now in their hands to prove that they deserve it. I think they will.

I was pulling for that against Michigan... definitely the best scenario in my book.

Got to meet Justin and his family last night...the Hula Bowl had a ton of players at a dinner and autograph signing session at Dave and Buster's. Justin is a genuinely nice guy and so is his dad.

Thats cool Mili. Did you get his autograph?

HAYN was nice enough to give me two game photos he had taken of Justin and I got both signed, one each for both my daughters. Not to sound uppity, but I usually don't ask for autographs for me from folks as young as--and actually younger--than my kids.

Zwick competitive even in Right to Read: Former Ohio State quarterback remembers books he read; says he still enjoys reading

By SARAH SKYLARK BRUCE
Staff Writer
DALTON DISTRICT -- Reading is a team sport in Dalton. And, while it may not be the sport of choice for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Dalton Elementary School brought in Justin Zwick to talk to students for Right-to-Read Week on Monday.
Zwick, 23, grew up in Orrville and is a former Ohio State quarterback. He graduated from OSU in December.
"I had to ask my mom what books I read when I was your age," Zwick told the K-5 students, who filled the gym seats at Dalton Intermediate School. "I'm an old man now."
When she refreshed his memory, it all came back, he said. Among his favorites were Dr. Seuss and "Friday Night Lights" about a Texas football team, Zwick said.

WAITING FOR A CHANCE Massillon High School graduate and former Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick is prepared to play the waiting game as he awaits word on whether he is selected in the upcoming NFL Draft. If not, he will attempt to sign with a team as a free agent.

Zwick dealing with reality
Sunday, April 22, 2007
SUNDQAY SPECIAL
BY TODD PORTER

Living on false hope isn?t Justin Zwick?s way. The former football star at Massillon and Orrville high schools never did it at Ohio State, and he is not about to with the NFL.

Zwick has had a relatively quiet spring, not necessarily good news for an NFL prospect. He didn?t fly to cities at the invitation of any of the 32 NFL teams. He didn?t get invited to the Combine.

But the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder has something most drafted players don?t have.

Reality.

?This whole experience has been weird,? Zwick told The Repository last week. ?It?s a waiting game. You?re waiting to see where you end up or what?s going to happen. I?m probably going to be a free-agent guy and go somewhere and learn. It?s weird not knowing where that is going to be.?

Justin did pretty well on the Spring Game pregame show yesterday. It took him a little time to loosen up, but he looked comfortable by the halftime show.

it was really strange watching those guys with huge microphones in their hands while sitting, it seemed like no one knew what to do with them. Don't you think ONN would be able to afford some lapel microphones?
