I loved his demeanor in QB1, and think he'll fit in great in the locker room.Watched QB1... Couple things...
1. I really hope we don't run him as much as he ran in the series. Seems like that's all he did!
2. He has a tendency to fumble while scrambling.
3. He is the exact opposite of Tate and I couldn't be more impressed by his game. I really think we won huge here with this trade off.
Fields is shown at 6:18 and 11:40(competing against Trevor Lawrence' team, and battling him for Elite 11 MVP) and 15:14 for the 7 on 7 final(which Fields wins, along with the MVP). Love what Dilfer says about him at 13:02.
I know its just in shorts and shirts, but Fields dropped some dimes, and showed what he could do when he can only use his arm. And to think, we have this kid for 2 years! I say, load up on OL and keep this man's jersey clean, his WR's have to be drooling thinking of what he can do in this offense
No, that's not Ruckert, it's Luke Ford(UGA).I forgot that he and Ruckert played together at the Elite11. Looks like they already have some chemistry built up - looking forward to the combo on the field
Edit: actually, did they? Can't seem to tell

Yea It's been noted how his HS team wasn't the greatest so definitely understand that he didn't have the cast to help him out.I loved his demeanor in QB1, and think he'll fit in great in the locker room.
But to your points:
1. I think like many HS QBs who talent with their legs, they usually don't have the best WRs or best OL, so it's usually on them to make big plays with their legs(i.e Pryor, Barrett and Miller). I think with the talent that OSU has at both of those positions, not to mention have a great stable of RBs, Fields won't be assigned with having to take over games with his legs
2. Agreed, but I think he was trying to put too much on his shoulders, knowing that if he didn't, they would have a few more losses on their season
3. In his attitude and demeanor, ABSOLUTELY! When Tate was on QB1, he was a more typical social media lover type of HS student, and loved his own press clippings. Fields seems to be much more humble, and willing to be a part of the whole team, while Tate would be with a select group of guys. Fields reminds me of a mix of Barrett(leadership, can be reliant to move chains with his legs in tough situations, a positive locker room presence) and Pryor(freak athlete, runs so fast with strides that make him seem slower, when they tuck you hold your breath, athletes who's arms need work but could be special)
. His mobility needs to be taken advantage no doubt but I don't even think as a runner. Roll him out with the option to tuck it if he needs to. I'll say this though, I think we become a harder team to defend the run against. Imagine if you are a linebacker trying to decide whether to cover your man or do you come up to take away the run for Justin. You are wrong no matter what you do.
Seriously, go ahead take Dobbins away on the zone read now. See where it get you on 3rd and 3.
The RPO game becomes impossible for other defenses as well. Justin can hand it off, he can throw it, and of course run it. With Dwayne he gave us two of those options but he was never the wild card when the defense had everything covered.
.
I'm talking more about using his mobility to pull people in so he can throw over top.If Tate would have stayed sure. With only Baldwin behind him that I sort of trust to take snaps next season, I'm not wanting them taking a bunch of hits running in games we can win with his arm.
Though I also don't want him taking too many hits, the kid is built like a tank. Can easily see him playing in the 230's once the season starts and losing no speed. His feet will be a big asset to the passing game like @bukIpower said.If Tate would have stayed sure. His top end speed reminds me of Pryor(though it's hard to replicate a 6'5 QB with 4.4 speed), and style is like JT's. And agreed, in the red zone we should be much improved, kid makes plays.Forgot to mention... his running abilities is even more of a blend. Has better top end speed than JT (not quite Braxton) but is such a strong runner (kind of like JT).
It'll be this trait that may actually make us even better in the red zone.
So even though we just lost our record breaking QB it's not unreasonable to think the 2019 offense may be harder to stop.Though I also don't want him taking too many hits, the kid is built like a tank.
