QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

This.

And JF, throughout his career in college and the NFL has taken entirely too many sacks.

It’s easy to blame the Bears o-line for its lack of talent, but it’s hard to explain away when you saw the same struggles at OSU with elite talent for 2 years. He definitely needs to learn how to process defenses a bit faster and get quicker making decisions.

I think that concern is enough for Chicago to not go full commitment at this point.

That said, Chicago is a bitch to play in and it’s never going to be stat friendly to a QB or a high powered passing offense. The fact that they have an athletic freak at QB who doesn’t need huge passing stats to succeed is a huge win for them. There’s few QBs that could thrive in their conditions and Fields should be one.

I think Chicago would be crazy to move on from him….especially if it were for a guy like Bryce Young…..Chicago (the weather conditions) would eat Young up come the fall.

Could not agree more with this comment.
I will take this a step further. Unless they are installing a dome they need to focus on Defense, and ball control offense that can run the rock.
Additionally, the next Bears team that is top 5 in the league for a passing attack with be the absolute first and likely last. If you play outside on natural grass it seems to be tough to have an elite passing attack (screw GB). With that said, it seems Buffalo has a second stint of teams with a good/great passing attack. Jim Kelly and now Josh Allen. But we are discussing the Bears here and they just do not seem to thrive throwing the ball. I suggest they invest in the Offensive line and Defensive lines like by furry little buddies the Lions. It makes your team so much better.

Also, Fields has to be happy Stroud is going pro so everyone can pick on the next OSU QB and stop piling on Fields.

That was one of the main things Haskins was better at and so was Stroud.

Justin I feel like had the same problem Tua had in his final year. He would turn down the 5-10 yard pass hunting for the bigger play. When you're the athlete he is with the receivers and line he had at OSU vs 95% of competition that worked.

When he's in the NFL with a poor line and 1 to 2 NFL level targets at WR and 1 NFL level TE. Well that works significantly less

More and more talk of trading Fields for OL and WR and using the pick on Bryce Young. One side of me says this is bullshit. The other says that the Bears being one of the most inept franchises in pro sports this is almost bound to end up with Fields becoming an all-pro while Young becomes this year's Mormon Leaf. It's in their DNA.

Was (indoor) golfing with friends last night. The discussion of picking up Brady and dealing JF came up... mostly in jest as it would be such a Bears move. Were they to do that, I'd watch every Bears game with the same eyes that can't be pulled away from watching a train wreck...

If the Bears screw this up, they deserve everything they get.

If they do that Bryce Young will be broken in half. He would not survive the pounding Justin has taken the last 2 years. And I like Bryce Young as a prospect but he needs at least a decent Oline and needs to learn when sometimes it's not worth taking a hit for the play you're about to make

Justin Fields' disdain for Michigan has not lessened since he traded his Ohio State football jersey for Chicago Bears threads.
In an interview with radio host Rich Eisen during Super Bowl week, Fields was asked about how he felt after the Buckeyes' second-straight loss to the Wolverines in 2022, starting a back-and-forth with the Michigan graduate.

"That's their second in nine, 10 years?" Fields asked with a smirk.
"If you want to compare that little two to seven, you got it. Y'all lost to TCU. Nobody expected that, right? Y'all did get a Big Ten championship."

Who is the Yoder guy? Is there a history here or is this just some random moron? Aside from me also being a moron.
He's the human diaper that went to Michigan St because he couldn't get in to Michigan, but is still a Michigan fan....to the point where he's one of their media members. Like if Bill Landis had gone to Michigan, but worse..... because Landis doesn't dress up like Bucki Guy to do a podcast like a pathetic fanboy loser. When they were losing, he existed as a troll to Michigan.....two CFP appearances later and now he's mustered up the courage to troll Ohio State.

I can't get the audio to work. Curious if they scrubbed it. Other clips of theirs are working for me just fine, including one from the same interview.
That was the “joke”…have it look like video/audio while he snipes some “quotes” that were never said. Makes it look legit I guess. Then he played up the bit telling hundreds of people “sound is working as expected.”

Amazing what people allow pass/view as funny. What a fucking loser.
