QB Jack Miller (transfer to Florida)

Haha I mean yeah but I just figured with a game less than 2 days away he wouldn't be out drinking.

Then again he's the back up and probably would be able to coast into the weekend.

Reminds me of Bobby Collins from The Program. Might as well go out and party, since you don’t plan on getting in. Miller sounds like he’s enjoying being an OSU QB and the exploits that go with it, without having to risk any injury…

At Kent it started on Tuesday. Or maybe it just never really ended from the previous week.

Hopefully the kid learns from this mistake.
Yeah depends on the school you were at lol!

And kids will be kids in college. And I too hope he learned. Especially with the Ruggs situation being so fresh on everyone's minds

Ryan Day said Tuesday that Miller’s suspension remains indefinite as of now, and Ohio State is still gathering information before deciding how to move forward with Miller.

“Just to kind of get more information about how things are gonna be handled and what the conclusion and the findings are of everything,” Day said Tuesday. “So we’re just making sure that we have all the information before we make a decision about moving forward.”

Miller is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Friday at the Franklin County Municipal Court on misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while impaired and driving in marked lanes, stemming from an arrest an approximately 1:28 a.m. last Friday, when he was stopped by an Ohio State Highway Patrol after he was seen swerving in and out of lanes.

As seen in dashcam video provided to media outlets on Monday, Miller told the officer who stopped him that he had not been drinking, but was ultimately placed under arrest after field sobriety tests were conducted.

Dang. I thought he did pretty good on the sobriety tests. I woulda thought I had nailed them.

I back the blue but that cop was a snarky asshole.

Yeah, I think releasing police footage like this to the public is a dicey situation, because people can interpret it in their own way. I agree the cop was being a little snarky(possibly thinking to knock this football player down a peg or two), and I also back the blue. But some may think Miller was just being a kid and should've just been sent home with a warning...

That's a tough situation. What happens if he lets him go and Miller crashes into a busload of nuns and orphans? Of course, that can happen whenever, sober or not, but when alcohol is brought in, the officer needs to take some ownership. It's sort of like the targeting call - if the NCAA were to get rid of that call, and someone gets hurt on what should be an illegal hit, that's opening the door for a pretty stinky lawsuit. If that officer lets him go with a warning, it'll be big news if he gets in a fatal accident.

I would have failed the standing on one foot, and I don't drink. Some of the other things he did were out of sight of the camera, so we don't know about them. He failed to follow all instructions (keep your hands out of your pockets), but that could have been attributed to nervousness. On some of the interaction with the officer he definitely appeared nervous, but he didn't appear to be impaired. He did weave while driving, but that could have been guys fooling around in the truck. I believe in coming down on drunk drivers, but I didn't see a drunk driver on the sobriety tests, and unless they did a breathalyzer I don't see how you could convict him based on the video.

Let’s say this ends up being a reduced sentence or is thrown out etc just for sake of argument. Jack was taken off the street ….so no nuns or orphans were wiped out. Can’t we just live with that as a society? The kid was removed from being a danger, he’s definitely been embarrassed and hopefully learns a good lesson.
